I don't play with penny stocks much, but I've got my eye on a company with great potential.
Point Group Holdings (Symbol PGHI) recently acquired VeeGeez.com, an online video game rental site. It's like NetFlix, only they rent video games instead of DVDs. If you'll remember, NetFlix went from $6 to almost $80 this past year. The DVD rental business is huge. So is the video game rental market.
VeeGeez has some existing competition, but I don't believe any of them are doing a good job marketing their services. With their "No late fees" policy, I believe VeeGeez has a great opportunity to take a nice chunk of the market.
Currently, their site looks awful, but they will be launching a brand new site within a week or two. They have plans to launch a comprehensive marketing effort which should reach their target market over the next year.
I remember missing the boat on the last dotcom boom. I have put my money where my mouth is and invested some cash in PGHI. It is currently at .05 on the OTC Bulletin Boards. I guess time will tell if this is a good investment!
Note: I am not a licensed broker and am not telling you what to do with your money. Don't make any purchases based on what I say or do.

Time will tell. I don't have any insight other than I agree and have positions in PGHI.

Well, its now 6 days after the original post and PGHI hit .10 today. I have been holding this since .022
The potential here is absolutely enormous.(In my opinion)
New website is up and running. PGHI will be changing their name to Gameznflix in the upcoming days. They will also be launching another new website @ gameznflix.com, that will rent games as well as DVD's.
Take a look at Netflix.....and now use your imagination, and think where this stock will be in 2 months, 6 months, 1 year....and further!
Good luck to all!

Hello, Joel. I thought I would pass along a great article on Point Group Holdings(PGHI). It was written(02.05.2004) by a local paper based in Franklin Kentucky, PGHI's new corporate/distribution location. Very nice read, giving a little forward looking statements about PGHI's future. -

Hello friends! Im from Germany an want to ask, whats about filesharing in the USA? Are there restrictions or prohibitions by the police now or to be expected in the future? I think this is important for a company like gameznflix! When there are prohibitions it will be very good for the company because in Germany many people get the files by filesharing programms like emule and no one prevents them...

Howdee folks! Been long on GZFX since end of October. What a nice find. Enjoy watching this BIG picture unfold. Cheers to all! Keith

Do you think this is the end of VeeGeez.com? The stock fell more than 6%... How many subscribers does this site has anyway? Any Idea?
March 20, 2004 8:34 PM
The stock is up 160% from when I bought it! As for VeeGeez.com, it wouldn't surprise me if they merged it with GameZNFlix.com once it launches this week.
March 28, 2004 9:43 AM
Bigb...are you really worried about the 6% fall? The new Gameznflix site is up, the commercials have started...........this stock should fly on Monday!!!!!
March 30, 2004 8:55 PM
Ben Curtis Dell dude is doing the commercial for them in May .. Woopee :)
April 1, 2004 9:54 AM
JOsh, have you looked at this stock lately? Going down like anything. In 2 days it lost 5 cents. Around 30% fall.
April 6, 2004 10:43 PM
Bigb...lets not turn this into a stupid arguement.
But GZFX is UP 13.39% today, and up 30% since you were worried about the 6% drop. This is only the beginning of veegeez & gameznflix. If you are worried about a 6% drop in the early stages like this, maybe its too risky for you. Long term holders know realize where this stock could be in the future. A 6% drop does not signify the end of Veegeez.
And that 30% drop came after a 70% rise after your post about the 6% loss.

Hi Fellas,
Do you know any penny stock which has bright future? Any suggestions? I see this GZFX is doing pretty good. Bigb and Josh.....Come on guys give us a break...

GZFX may be a good company to invest in but don't do business with them...huge disapointment.
June 3, 2005 9:25 AM
Howdy folks!
Gameznflix has improved dramatically. I'm on the annual (8-out) plan which is less than $16 per month. Great deal. If you have invested in GZFX, then sit back and watch how this business unfolds.

It seems to be that the article is quite old - more than 4 years old. Is it possible to get some update on it? So was it a good penny stock investment?
July 17, 2008 11:44 AM
Well, before buying any penny stocks plenty of due diligence should be made. I've written some good articles here on penny stocks. I hope they would be helpful to anyone who wants to take up Joel's advice.

IBOT.PK: There is a strong demand and interest for renewable packaging solutions. Wal-Mart for example, has initiated and pioneered a very strong sustainability initiative that focuses on reducing packaging and adherence to sustainable practices."

Well this might be a good investment but you have to think about Gamefly.com they are probally bigger then Veegees.com right now they have over 2 million customers according to last year and it has doubled most likly. so i wouldnt waste you money on this stock...
September 20, 2008 10:37 PM
Joel I hope you have not sunk lot of cash in this. Penny stocks are like home runs they come once in a while but most of the time you strike out. I am a trader and what I know I hate to gamble. I would like you rather buy a good company with solid products and make consistent returns.. AAPL comes to mind.

I love Netflix although it doesn't seem to be catching on as quickly as I thought it would.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it's not about the individual but it can be with everyone.

i'm thinking of investing my money in penny stocks.. maybe there's no reason to pick up the phone to call your broker just understand the broker basics..take note..brokers are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)...
April 5, 2010 9:10 PM
Penny stocks is not where you should invest. Most of those are money pits just waiting to heppen.
April 16, 2010 1:20 AM
The bottom line is that penny stocks are cheap for a reason - there is much less information about them and the associated stock volumes traded are much lower than stocks listed on the major exchanges. Also, keep in mind that given their cheap price, you will need to buy lots of shares to make much money on your investment. On the flip side, a small, promising company is just the kind on which fortunes are made. A penny stock whose price rises from 10 cents to a dollar gives you a 1,000 return on investment. Not bad!
April 27, 2010 3:33 AM
My mother was lucky enough to invest in a penny stock in Singapore Stock Exchange. She bought it at 6 cents, sold at 81 cents. Later that particular stock reached a high exceeded $1 before the stock market crash 2 years ago.
Sometimes, it is just a matter of sheer good luck.
May 5, 2010 2:44 PM
The problem with penny stocks is that the company could be lying on their financial statements, and since the financials are not audited, there is no way that the investor could know the truth. I do not ever want to invest in penny stocks.

Nice Post! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I want to add few words about investment in Penny stock. You should contact a broker who specializes in penny stocks. Carefully research a brokerage that specializes in penny stocks, and in particular a broker who tells you that you're getting a sure thing. Still investment in Penny stock is risky, because penny stocks are most often sold by new companies needing capital. Read on to learn how to invest in penny stocks.
