This week, I had the pleasure of being asked to speak to Microsoft employees on the subject of Twitter.
Eckhart Boehme invited me to talk about how businesses are using Twitter, demonstrating that Microsoft is taking a very engaged position on social media.
I was treated quite well by Eckhart and his team, and I met a number of very bright Microsoft people.
The campus is ENORMOUS. I saw buildings numbered all the way up to #92, so you can just imagine how large the place is.
The talk went very well and I was told that my feedback marks were among the highest they have seen this year. So that's pretty cool.

I signed a LOT of books!
After the talk, I met with a small number of Microsoft employees to answer their social media questions.
Next, it was off to the cafeteria when I enjoyed some pizza and a few minutes of down time.
Then it was off to the Microsoft Visitor Center, where I explored their museum and was gifted $100 to spend at the Microsoft store.

Finally, I went to building #25, home of MSNBC.com. I got to spend a few minutes with Al Olson, Senior Editor with the web site. He was very proud to show me that he had iFart on his iPhone!

I streamed some of this live on my UStream.tv channel and have embedded the videos on this page for you to enjoy.
I'd love to go back and meet more of the Microsoft team at some point. A very enjoyable experience!

So what did you spend the $100 on ;)
So what are the odds that MS acquires Twitter?
Congrats Joel,
You really deserve that. It's no surprise
your feedback marks are among the highest.
They know you are an authority in your field
like Microsoft is in his.
All the best
Joel, what is really cool is to see how a solo entrepeneur like yourself has become a force such that Bill Gates' company is seeking you out for advice! What a great model for the rest of us solo-preneurs. You never know where you may end up when you first start out!
I always wanted to go to Microsoft, and Google, we owe them so much for bringing the technology and internet world into this kind of level.
But what's in the Big Orange Bag???
This is Cool! Is there anyway i can also visit MicroSoft?
Dear Joel,
You are so inspiring. I truly enjoyed the video. You are putting using social networks on the map!
Thank you so much for sharing your work.
Susan
Right on Joel, I've got a former co-worker who's now a marketing manager with MSFT, I'll pick his brain on this too!
Looks like an awesome trip.
Must be fun.
Joel,
I just received a signed copy of "Twitter Power" from Zac Johnson's contest
(Devouring the contents now like a Microsoft Employee's breakfast!)
Great videos!
I know the Director for Windows Development in Redmond, Washington State. She was my former VP at Sony's Broadband Solutions Group in San Jose.
Appreciate all that you do, hoping to be busy soon myself once I select a 'Brand' for whatever it is that I do.
Say hi to Dan Nickerson ( 'Dan The Man' ).
