I just made my first blog page using Getting Started with Blogging and Google AdSense. It took my a little searching to find the AdSense tab since w/the new bogger it isn't quite as explained in your ebook. BUT-I am getting excited. I applied for my AdSense account and can hardly wait to add AdSense to my blog.

Having Adsense, Chitika, Yahoo, etc. ads on your site isn't going to mean anything until you have traffic. Not traffic from the same 10 friends who visit your site out of courtesy but traffic from web-users who are looking for information or entertainment.
Instead of reading a book how to make money, read up on whatever topic you are blogging about so you can print thoughtful and hopefully useful information.
Exchange links of your site with other publishers so you can increase the portals into your site. Expect to spend a year building up an audience then start thinking about your ads. No traffic means no clicks so take care of what comes first--traffic to your site.

Great resource Joel - you sure do know how to put them together.
Have to confess to wondering what new things could possible be said about Adsense - and now I know!
Thanks.
