I've just spent an incredible three days in Las Vegas at the Affiliate Summit.
This gathering of nearly 3000 people was one of the largest concentrations of affiliate marketers in history.
While I did enjoy some of the workshops, the greatest benefit was from networking with others in the industry.
I finally got to meet famous bloggers such as Amit Mehta, John Chow, Andrew Wee and Zac Johnson, just to name a few. All these people are just regular folk who have found success in following their passion and building a business online.

As I am getting ready to return home, I am excited about a few thing I want to share with you.
First, my team and I introduced a new text messaging service which you will be hearing a lot about shortly. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response and I have a feeling that is may be taking up a good deal of my time soon. It's always great to see one of your babies begin to walk, and that's precisely what happened the past few days. More on that in an upcoming entry.
Second, I rediscovered something that I had known for some time but am always happy to be reminded. And that is the huge opportunity that exists for anyone to be their own boss and make a great living doing it! Maybe I see it clearly because I do attend and engage at events, but it becomes clearer and clearer to me all the time. It truly is all about getting "out there" and taking determined action to succeed. It's not rocket science, which is a good thing, as I am not a rocket scientist!
Third, and most importantly, I am thrilled to have so many friends and acquaintances in this industry.
Like the "Cheers" song says, sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name.
It's great to catch up with old friends and to spend time making new friends.
Basically, we're all in the same boat. There is so much opportunity to go around that I don't feel like I am competing with others. It's more rewarding to listen to someone else's idea or business plan and provide valuable input that will help them out. I find that whatever you give ends up coming back to you in other ways. You just can't lose!
I'm tired and it's late. It's time to pack so I can head home on Wednesday.

Must be wonderful to be able to meet all the other big name bloggers and Internet marketers and find out that they are regular guys but with a passion. Must try and make it there one of these days.
