We checked out of Beaver Creek around noon today, leisurely packing and enjoying the remainder of our stay. Jenna wanted to try the bungee trampoline, so we let her bounce for a few minutes before we left the resort. I think the height intimidated her, but she had fun.
The drive from Beaver Creek to Keystone was less than an hour, but we stopped in Frisco en route to get something to eat. We enjoyed a decent hamburger at Woody's on the main street running through Frisco.
We arrived in Keystone around 2 pm and promptly checked in to the Buffalo Lodge in River Run Village. The room is quite nice, though not as nice as the one in Beaver Creek. Unfortunately, they put us in a room without much of a view. But once you walk outside you get an eyeful of the town and the mountain.
As luck would have it, thunderstorms started up not long after we arrived, and it continued raining the better portion of the evening. It didn't keep us in the room, though. We took the kids to the Adventure Center where they enjoyed panning for gold and feeding the ducks on Keystone Lake. They found a couple small nuggets, but I am not planning on retiring any time soon.
We enjoyed dinner at Paisanos italian restaurant. Mary had a chicken parmesan and I enjoyed a chicken fettucini alfredo plate. Jenna has finally gotten past the "noodles with butter only" phase and now likes her spaghetti WITH sauce. She also proudly stated that she liked the meatballs. Zach stuck with the tried and true chicken fingers and chips.
After dinner played a short game in the room and then sent the kids to bed. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, we have a nature hike and a horse-drawn wagon ride scheduled. If it does rain, well bummer.
