I've been looking back at what's been happening in the world of AdSense over the last ten months or so... and I've been amazed at what I've found.
I was able to count at least fifteen innovations that could affect the way publishers earn through AdSense. Some of those changes, such as larger image ads, are relatively minor. Others, such as video ads and multiple channels for ad units, have the potential to radically change the way we earn and work.
And some, like Google's Gadgets have nothing to do with AdSense, but with a bit of imagination can help boost any publisher's earnings.
Fifteen changes -- more than one a month. And those were the changes I found without any effort at all and which only affect AdSense.
If I were looking at changes which have affected other contextualized ad programs, by the time I'd found them all, I'd have to start all over again.
So what did I learn from looking at all these changes?
First, it's become easier than ever for people who know nothing about the Internet to get online and start earning. If you're new to AdSense, you can have a website online and be receiving your first ad clicks tomorrow. There's never been a better time to start.
But once you've started, the range of strategies has got more complicated than ever.
While the basic principle of blending your ads into your site is still the golden rule of AdSense earning, there are now more ad formats to choose from. There are video ads and referral buttons as well graphic ads, text ads, search boxes and link units. There are all sorts of add-ons that can entertain users as well as bring more traffic.
And there are more changes coming out all the time that have to be followed and understand.
But apart from the importance of optimizing your page and tracking the results, one other thing hasn't changed at AdSense.
The idea that your site must entertain your users.
One of the biggest changes that Google made this year was to penalize publishers that produce garbage content. Many of those publishers are being charged at least $10 per click to advertise on AdWords.
Lots of things are going to change on AdSense in the future, and we're going have to know what those changes are. But I don't expect the importance of good content to change ever.
Joel: do you plan to do anything to advise us purchasers of your AdSense templates about how the recent/ongoing changes will or should impact our VRE?

I have a question about how many web site I need for making money with AdSense. Sometimes an entrepreneur say that it is enough with 10 sites and now latly same entrepreneur say one need 100 or more as it pay our very little. What is the true about this question?
