"Get the credit you deserve!", they say, fully realizing the intent being to get their meathooks into their wallets as soon as possible. The borrower is indeed a slave to the lender.
It is very useful to find a service that offers free credit reports and get a copy of yours. Find out where you stand. My wife recently received her credit report and I was surprised to see which accounts were still open, as well as the number of inquiries made to her account.
