A couple months back, I discussed my trials and tribulations with Spyware, the insidious software that automatically installs itself on your PC when you visit certain web pages. Once installed, it proceeds to hijack your machine by delivering annoying pop-up advertisements, unwanted browser toolbars, and generally causing havoc with your computer.
I have recently discovered a new program which has been extremely effective in removing spyware from my computers (yes, I had it on THREE PCs in our home).
The program is called Spyware Search and Destroy. It scans your system for the latest incarnations of spyware, points them out to you, allows you to send them to spyware heaven, and innoculates your pc against further abuses. They regularly update spyware definitions so you can download them and stay current.
