It is with much fondness that I bid adieu to World of Warcraft. I've been playing my character, Riathamus, for just over a month, and I have experienced a great deal of what the game has to offer. However, the game is so enormous, so huge, and so seemingly endless, that I am in turning in my two-handed mace and calling it quits.
This game is simply too good. It's too beautiful. It's too much fun. And it's an incredible way to waste time. The worlds are huge, the quests are non-stop, and the sense of discovery turns up something new around every turn. After playing for a month, I have probably only seen 15% of what the game has to offer. So where does it end? With more traditional single player games, there is a definitive end-game. Not so with MMORPGs. The developer hooks you with the desire to further your character. They provide regularly updated content and surprise items that make you want to continue searching for more. From what I can tell, no one has done this as well as Blizzard Entertainment.
A fully equipped level 33 human warrior with experiences he shall not soon forget, Riathamus leaves Azeroth on the wings of a gryphon.

Sad isn't it? Something so beautiful, yet something so destructive in the real world.
