"Get Google Pay-Per-Click Ads for Free" was the title on the report that promised an amazing way to advertise on Google AdWords without having clicks ding your wallet.
This ebook was #1 on Clickbank's Marketing & Ads category, so curiousity got the best of me and I paid $97 to see what it was all about.
Want my honest assessment? Read on...
This ebook was the biggest waste of money, and perhaps most deceiving marketing scheme, that I have seen in a long time.
First of all, please know that as an author I respect other authors. If there was any substance to the mentioned material, I wouldn't share the "secrets" within. But my consumer alert antenna went up with this one and you need to know what is inside so you don't get bamboozled into buying this.
Here it is. The BIG secret that can get you Free advertising on Google.
Are you ready?
Are you sitting down?
It's a shocker.
I hope I have prepped you adequately, because this is going to be earthshattering and life-changing.
NOTE: If you aren't perceiving extreme sarcasm, please go back and read the last few sentences again. ;-)
THE BIG SECRET - Sell advertising on your web site to pay for your Google AdWords clicks.
Yup. That's it.
$97 and 122 pages of digital material to reveal that big secret.
Sure, he's got some supplementary material on how to go about selling ads on your site, how to buy space and resell it at a higher price and some basic tutorials on how to use AdWords.
But honestly, I can't believe that this material is actually being sold.
It's all in the marketing. Everyone wants to get Google AdWords clicks for free!
Heck, he got my curiousity.
And you know what? I'm not even going to ask for a refund.
I'm going to keep this ebook as a reminder of how the very worst kind of junk can be presented as gold.
It's also a reminder that I, too, am a customer and can be marketed to.
Anyone else buy this ebook?

Joel, are you telling me that wasn't worth $97 even if you didn't know what you already know? :)
just kidding.....
That's ridiculous.......I could see maybe it being worth $10 to someone who had no previous knowledge, but the fact that it was even more of a scam to get the consumer to purchase it makes it worth nothing!
January 24, 2008 06:48 PM
Yes I agreed. This ebook is totally worthless and waste of time.
January 24, 2008 09:58 PM
Joel,
I'm surprised that Google isn't giving you Google ads for free already, considering all the customers you've brought them.

I saw the sales page for that book, but read the fine print at the bottom and it mentioned that it is not affiliated with Adwords or Adsense, so I immediately knew that that was what they were going to suggest. I dodged that bullet. Glad to hear that my prediction was correct.
January 25, 2008 11:12 AM
I have to admit... I buyed it too.
And you know what?
I told myself: Damn... He really selling this 100 bucks? Ok... Let's write an Ebook filled with crap and sell it 75 bucks...
But I didn't found enough stupidities to fill up 150 pages.
January 25, 2008 02:37 PM
why pay $100?
i will wait for the seminar for $1000 and find out all the "secrets" that the ebook could not include for only $100!..ye of little faith!
January 27, 2008 11:50 AM
I agree with you that this book is deceiving and way too expensive for the information it provides. I have to say that for some people it will bring up an alternative to Adsense or other types of ads that could bring in more money for the, Let's say you have a decent site, pr3, get a couple hundred clicks per day. You could sell ad space on the home page for $30-50 a month and sub pages for $10-20. It could be a nice addition to your Adsense revenue.
January 27, 2008 08:28 PM
Yeah I got caught in this same trap a while back and I was completely pissed off to find out that the BIG secret was only to sell advertising on your site to pay for the adwords campaign. If anyone had an Ahah moment from reading that eBook that had to be completely retarded. I think that eBook should be removed because I know at least two dozen people buy it every single day, making that scam artist rich.
Sorry about the ramblings, but horrible products make me upset.
January 28, 2008 08:23 AM
What about buying traffic, is it a scam ?!
January 29, 2008 03:48 PM
thanks for that post Joel.............appreciate the info on that ebook. I knew something was up with it but just wasn't sure. The testimonials looked fake and I don't even think the main page had the guys name who was talking or addressing the consumer.
Great stuff for exposing this guy!
January 30, 2008 08:49 AM
Thanks Joel for this exposure. I could have been the next victim. It stinks to high heaven when you imagine this guy is siphoning money from innocent people. Why give advertising space to obvious scums?
January 30, 2008 05:50 PM
i used your book to make my own google adsense

Hi there Joel.
Mate I have to tell you that I read this article and was completely dumbfounded.
I asked myself, why would anyone give away this sort of information for even 100 bucks?.Let alone give away such a secret.I have always known one thing in my life, and that is that nothing is for free.
I just didn't buy into it,yet the temptation was was seriously there. My gut feel however was just too strong to allow me to buy into this bullcrap.I only had to find one article that proved otherwise, and I did thanks to you.Your a life saver.
I have been battling for two years with adwords and it has done nothing but cost me money with very little sales.I am starting to wonder if the whole GOOGLE ADWORDS scheme is nothing but an almighty massive scam.Yet I still battle with it.I have practically given up and still work my day job even after 3 or 4 scammy e-books on adwords and after two years.
I don't believe there is anybody out there, even after two years of massive spendings on adwords.I also don't believe anybody is giving away the real information with google or clickbank ,but rather making sales from e-books on information which just isn't durable.
Thanks again Joel
Your one of the honest ones.(very rare to find.)
Regards
Pete.

Great post,
I could have hit myself in the head after reading the "secret"
I guess I can count myself lucky for not buying the book.I should of seen it because like others who commented here I had a gut feeling it was something like that. The sad part is though I bought into the hype and started to promote it on my blog by being an aff.Guess I'll make a post to my readers and tell them of my mistake.
I to hate it when I'm sold a bill of goods, thought it might have been something worthwhile.
Anyway,again great post,
Scott
P.S. by the way your about the third one I've read so far who posted the "secret".

Has anyone out there heard about WideCircles.com. It seems like a way better service then wasting money on PPC. Apparently they are using refering websites ( forums, blogs, wiki, etc. ) and have a viral word of mouth distributed approach to it. My friend told me he got around 100 visits from single post which cost him $0.40c. I am going to give them a try today . In case you are intrested here is it. http://widecircles.com?s=imt1

That does sound like trash about buying an AdWords e-book. Best thing is see Brad Callen about the AdWords e-book for free and then sell the search engine optimzing software as Brad's affilite...

I bought it a year ago.
Went through it and promptly asked for a refund, which I rarely do for Clickbank infoproducts, but for this case, I felt it was my right to.

Thanks for the info, wouldn't have helped me at all considering I already use adsense!!!
