Google Flight Simulator

There's no doubt that Google is challenging Microsoft's dominance of the desktop.

Search, office applications, email... the list goes on.

But here's a surprise that was discovered as an easter egg hidden in Google Earth...

... The Google Earth Flight Simulator

The Google Earth people have created a complete 3D flight game that runs within the Google Earth application.

And I gotta say, it is pretty darned cool!

Microsoft has added a ton of scenery to the latest version of Flight Simulator, but I was wondering when you would be able to fly the entire world in a photorealistic setting.

The Google Flight Simulator approximates this goal better than anything else, and best of all, it is completely free to play.

Download the latest version of Google Earth, then read the user guide.

There are only a couple planes and just a few options for now, but this is a great start and a lot of fun.

Doing forget to locate the safety exits before taking off!
