Gyutae Park Gives it All Away

Posted on March 16, 2008 5:50 AM by Joel Comm

I've long been a proponent of using contests, sweepstakes and giveaways to drive traffic to web sites. In fact, if you do it correctly, you can get others to provide all the prizes in exchange for a link back to their site!

Gyutae Park of WinningTheWeb.com has done just that.

Gyutae has pulled together over $7600 in prizes and I am guessing that the amount will grow as more people catch wind of this contest.

He's managed to get some of the big dogs on board with this contest, too. Check out some of the prizes.

  • $650 cash from Azoogleads
  • $500 cash from Pepperjam Network
  • A full conference pass to Affiliate Summit
  • 6 month membership to SEOmoz Pro
  • Custom banner design from Banners Mall
  • A one-month ad on JohnCow.com

And that is just the beginning!

There are over 35 prizes as of this writing and he is giving them all away at the end of March.

This is a great example of how to use giveaways to create viral marketing buzz.

    Want to see the effect?

Google Gyutae Park contest and check out the number of results.

Go check out what Gyutae is calling "the craziest Internet marketing contest you've ever seen."

I run contests fairly regularly too, and although I can't give away on the scale that this person has, I too am trialling the whole "win this stash" concept.

    Hey Joel,
Thanks for the plug. The prize pool is not at $9,190 - even bigger than what was anticipated. This should be huge.

Excellent idea! Good luck, Gyutae, on all your endeavors... Joel, you've done it again! Stop it!(smile) Anything to win,I guess....
