We awoke at 8 am so, preparing for our Thanksgiving journey to Chicago. You won't believe how smoothly that journey went.
Our flight was due to take off at 11:44 am. Calculating time to get to the airport, park the car, hop the shuttle, clear security and board the plane, we decided it would be a good idea to start earlier than later in case many others would be traveling today.
The shuttle parking lot was full, so we found a spot at a remote lot. The shuttle brought us to the American Airlines curbside check-in and we were the only ones there. Our bags were checked in no time and we were handed our boarding passes.
We walked towards the security line and discovered that the line was non-existant. We were all through security in a matter of minutes.
That gave us plenty of time to use the restroom, buy magazines and gum and make our way to the gate.
It turned out that our flight only had 15 people on it. The attendent didn't even bother boarding by groups. She said that if we all got on the plane quickly that we could leave asap. So we got on the plane and took off 15 minutes early! That is virtually unheard of!
We made excellent time in the air and arrived in Chicago early. We got off the plane, stopped at the restroom once more and made our way to baggage claim. The moment we approached the baggage claim, our bags came out. We grabbed them, called my stepfather and he was waiting for us outside.
Could our travels had gone any more perfect? I think not!
We've enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and evening with my family. Lots of laughs and catching up with each other. I look forward to the next few days before we have to head home. I can only hope our return travel goes as smoothly.
Hey Joel, you never addressed my comments about that Greenzap scam in your blog entry for October 23rd.
I have no problem with you putting up a referral code for some internet venture that may have value for your readers (and making a few bucks off it), but you should take steps if something you refer people to leads to a lot of complaints by consumers.
Greenzap is a real pig. They say one thing and mean another. They have a business model that cannot sustain itself. Concurrent with their MLM Ponzi scheme for consumers, they are running a pump-and-dump stock market sale on the pink sheets.
