When asked what the most memorable iPhone novelty apps ever invented are, many people will whisper the name “iFart” through a childish giggle.
That’s because iFart was one of the first (and smelliest) iPhone apps to hit #1 in the iTunes appstore. You can say it made a bit of a stink.
Five years ago, iFart was #1 in the world for just over three weeks, receiving international attention and mega-downloads. The app is one of the few iPhone apps that has earned its own Wikipedia page!
iFart has not only made headlines, but it has also been a favorite topic of many celebrities including George Clooney, Kathie Lee Gifford, David Duchovney, Lance Armstrong, Jimmy Kimmel, Robin Williams, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Demi Moore and many others.
To celebrate the ongoing sales and influence of iFart, I have written a parody song which I’ve just released.
A satire of Katy Perry’s hit song, “Roar”, my song is called “Fart”. Instead of being about a woman who has been beaten down and has found her voice, Fart is the story of a woman who has been embarrassed to fart in public and now has the courage to let one rip!
As for the vocalist? Well, she prefers to be anonymous… for now. So we’ll just call her “Angel Butts”!
Along with the help of Adryenn Ashley and supportive extras at New Media Expo 2014, we’ve created a lyrics video with photos. Kate Buck, Jr. graciously agreed to play the role of the now free-to-flatulate Angel Butts in the photos. (though she is probably regretting it about now…)
Thanks to the extras on this shoot – Aaron Kennard, Shahar Boyayan, Ronald Herman, Traci Antonovich, Katie Schnorrbusch, Allene Quincy, Michael Stelzner, Jared Easley, Warren Whitlock. You are now part of iFart history. 🙂
With no further ado, I give you the lyrics video for Fart. Enjoy, and please share the flatulent goodness with others!
