As you may know, I have struggled with my weight the bulk of my adult life. (See how I used the word “bulk” in a sentence? I’m a punny guy…)
There are two reasons this has been a problem for me.
#1 – I like to eat
#2 – I don’t like to exercise
Yes, I like to eat. A lot. I enjoy food. Mexican food, italian food, chinese food, american food… anything but fish is good in my book. I like food. A lot. Did I mention that I like eating? Just checking. I want to make sure we are on the same page.
I also like to eat out. Man, do they give you BIG portions when you go to Chili’s, Applebees, and The Olive Garden!
And as I said, I don’t like exercising. It’s just so much work!
That’s all well and good, until you put your health at risk.
I’ve been on medication for high blood pressure for several years now.
I feel sluggish many days because of the high sugar content in my diet.
I get winded very easily when climbing the stairs. This is not good.
So I decided it was time for a change. I determined that with God’s help, I would lose weight and get fit.
Now, there are a lot of different ways we are told that we can lose weight and get fit.
There’s the South Beach diet.
There’s the Atkin’s diet.
There’s the Hollywood Diet.
And who could forget the Chocolate Chip Cookie diet?
There are more fad diets than there are ways to put ON weight!
I don’t doubt that these work for some people, but they don’t work for me.
Then there are the various workouts that people participate in to lose weight and get fit.
It doesn’t matter to me what kind of workout you do.
I have discovered the best way to lose weight and get fit without any fad diets.
It’s radical. You may have a hard time grasping it, but here goes…
Eat less and exercise more.
Yes, that is the Joel Comm diet. Actually, it’s more of a lifestyle change than anything else.
Next week, I will be revealing to you specifics of what I have been doing.
But today I want to share with you photos of me that were taken the first week of September 2010.
This is me at 225 pounds. I am wearing size 40 pants that are tight. My gut is hanging out all over the place. It’s not a pretty sight.
Check out those chins in the next photo. My chins have chins.
Kids, this is what happens when you eat to much junk. I’m not even talking about junk food, per se. I don’t eat McDonalds or any of that stuff. This is just from eating at quality restaurants and enjoying large portions. It also doesn’t help that I’ve had a sweet tooth the size of my head. Man, I like chocolate cake and ice cream. And it shows…
I warned you beforehand, didn’t I? I was obese.
It’s now been three months since I started in on The Joel Comm Diet, aka: Eat Less and More Exercise. In fact, I even started a blog at ProjectFit.TV. Since it didn’t seem like many people were interested in watching me lose weight and get fit I didn’t continue it. But you can watch my earlier videos to get an idea of what I did.
I will be sharing current photos with you soon. And I’ll give you a hint. I don’t look like the guy in the photos above.
