There's only one thing I hate worse than email spam. It is junk fax spam.
I got a fax machine so that I could send and receive important documents for my business. I use it for this purpose maybe once each week. But my fax machine is active far more frequently due to fax spam. I HATE junk faxes!
So I decided to do something about it.
JunkFax.org has numerous solutions for those who are fed up with junk faxes showing up on their machines. It is a waste of paper and ink. Those responsible should be held accountable for their actions.

i agree i hate junk mail, junk faxes, junk email. but what i hate more is not being able to get into my worldvillage.com email. if you could address this problem it would make me a lot more happy about any mail of any kind.

Here in the UK, we have a telephone and mail preference service, where you can stop junk phone calls and mail and the companies can no longer legally contact you through them means. I assume your details go on some sort of database which the companies have to abide by. Is there not such a service for fax in the US?
Joel, I'm sure you're aware that junk faxing is against the law, and offenders can be fined up to $500 per instance.
As a busy HR director for a growing company, I found that we were getting an alarming amount of junk faxes. More annoying was the fact that the faxes never properly identified the sender - they were deliberately identified as coming from places that sounded as if they were inside our company, and the content did nothing to dispel that notion: "We booked four trips to the Bahamas that we had to cancel, but we can't get a refund from our travel agent, so we're offering them to our employees at cost . . ."
Beginning to end, I consider them scams, and usually a quick phone call to the contact number, together with a threat to report the next fax to the state's Attorney General, was sufficient to get them to cross our number off their list.
But I like this approach too - go after them and hit them hard where it hurts.
I was part of a junk fax lawsuit in Chicago - against Visionlab. Lawsuit took about 1.5 years - I ended up with a check for $4,000 and so did many others in our lawsuit. Visionlab is now out of business!
