Kicking my Sidekick

And now, the continuing saga of the T-Mobile Sidekick, as featured in yesterday's entry.

So my Sidekick finally activates around noon today. Around 2 pm, my phone number is ported from Sprint. All is well and good. (except dealing with Sprint.. but I'll save that rant for another time...)

I am able to surf the web and received a couple calls. However, I immediately noticed that the "e" key sticks a bit. Sometimes it works upon pressing it, sometimes not. I think to myself, "well that is going to drive me nuts". So I get on the phone with LetsTalk.com, and I said, "Let's talk. I need to swap out this unit for another one."

After a little noodling, they agree to cross-swap a new unit. They'll ship it to me first and then I'll return the other, post-paid.

As it turns out, its a good thing. Tonight I tried to make an outgoing call for the first time. It won't call out. I tried to make an incoming call from another number. It won't receive calls. I just get voicemail. I can surf the web, so the signal is there, but something is terribly wrong.

I'm a bit peeved at the moment, so I am keeping details to a bare minimum. Suffice to say that I may be missing calls and will never know it. My new phone won't arrive until next Tuesday, and it will probably take another day to activate it.

God is teaching me patience.
