Lemmings Flashback

If you have played computer games for many years, you may recall an early real-time strategy game called Lemmings. Available on many computer and video game platforms, Lemmings was one of the first truly addictive real-time strategy games that appealed to boys and girls (er, men and women?)

The idea was simple. Escort a predetermined number of lemmings through a level by assigning them various skills, such as digging, building staircases, climbing, floating, bashing and more. Assigning the skills was easy, but the terrain that the lemmings had to navigate was not. It required quick thinking and many repeat tries to bring the lemmings to safety past numerous perils such as water, fire, pits and other obstacles. The original game had 120 levels, and the latter levels were absolutely maddening!

The game was followed up with several sequels throughout the years. This site is a compendium of all official Lemmings games. Needless to say, there have been a series of fan-made games as well.

Let Lemmings insanity begin again! One programmer has created a DHTML version of the original Lemmings that you can play in your web browser!

Careful, it IS addictive.
