I've been blogging since 2003. I started JoelComm.com as a personal site where I could write articles about whatever I wanted.
I wrote about my family, my travels, my dog, movie reviews, computer games and whatever else crossed my mind.
But as I began taking my blog more seriously, I began creating more original content that brought value to others. My expertise in online business, site monetization, iPhone applications and other areas proved valuable for my readers.
Of course, you are also an expert in your particular niche. That means you have the opportunity to bring value to others seeking your expertise.
Having your own blog is a great way to share your expertise with others. But just having your own blog doesn't guarantee that others will read your articles. After all, they have to be able to find you!
I regularly beat the drum over the importance of generating traffic to your site. And while there are many ways to generate traffic, there are only a few that consistently work. There are even fewer methods of traffic generation that are free.
So what if you could find a way of getting exposure for yourself and your content, generate traffic to your site AND make some money on the side?
That's a triple win!
WorldVillage.com is my very first site. In fact, it has been online since 1995. (Yes, that's fifteen years now!)
WorldVillage has become an avenue for bloggers to share their expertise and gain more exposure for themselves and their content.
Like Blogger or Typepad, WorldVillage provides you with a free blog that you can use to publish articles for others to read.
But unlike those blog sites, WorldVillage invites you to share in the revenue generated by your articles!
WorldVillage has JUST relaunched with a new look and new format to make blogging easier than ever, and to make revenue opportunities better for bloggers.
We are expecting hundreds of new bloggers to apply for a spot, but I am opening it up to my readers first.
To summarize, when you sign up for a free WorldVillage blogger account, here's what you get:
1) The opportunity to publish your content which can be read by the thousands of daily visitors (That's great exposure!)
2) The opportunity to include backlinks to YOUR own website (You want links coming from established websites)
3) The opportunity to earn 50% of the AdSense revenue generated by your articles! (Can you say, KaChing?)
I hope you will take advantage of these opportunities by becoming a WorldVillager today.

Thanks Joel, I've just signed - this is a great opportunity for any online entrepreneur with many benefits, not only revenue but also traffic & those valuable backlinks.
Since I sometimes write about things that are not Politically Correct, I view any blogging site that I don't actually own and control with with a jaundiced eye. Although they deny it (of course), Google has been caught deleting blogs on their Blogger site that the the uber-Liberal overloads there don't like. Gotta wonder what biases I might trip over at WorldVillage.
Lately, I have also seen an IM trend where the thrust is to create many blogs that have circular references, then populate them with a few posts -- or get some article-factory to auto-post for you. Chock-full of keywords, highly-ranked, etc. The result is invariably trash of the most infuriating kind (if you have an IQ over room temperature), and it's only a matter of time before the major search engines learn to spot that nonsense and make it essentially disappear from the web. I haven't checked out WorldVilllage, but from you description, I get the strong impression that it is of precisely this ilk.
My question is my industry, supplemental insurance, is really a local business. I cannot sell across the country only in LA and TX. So how could this blog really turn into revenue?
Being new to this I am sure there is something I am not seeing here. Please give me your input. Thanks
Joel - I thank you for this opportunity to be a member of your blog site - I think it is great which hopefully will be more hits to my own site and a earn more Google revenue.
I created an article and published it. Do I need to enter my name, email, url for the blog each time I want to create a new article?
I like your website by reading your helpfull information.
I being to start with a forum website in Belgium, Europe. The forum can be used for any questions and topics. The site will be good for people that will place an topic on a question. because most of the time there are more questions than answers without find anything on forums. Here the question can be anyting.
First of all i need visitors. So, its always starting with the first topic and visitor.
What im wondering is when i visit a website or forum, the forums are already full with many topics before i know that website exist.
So, how they attract visitors?? do they doing a mailing??
You have some suggest?
Joel, I really like the look of your blog. Who does this for you? I am just starting out, but really don't want a "plain jane" blog. Yours has a professional yet friendly format.
I see sharing of Adsense revenue is included. What about the other forms of advertising revenue?
Thanks!
How is it possible to get consistent traffic to blogs? please share with us. thanks Joel!
thanks fo this joel , yes i have question how to get constant traffic ? is there any software ?
World Village is a really good place for adding content with a chance to earn and gain back links as well. It's easy to use, costs nothing making it a great place to start especially for those less technical folks. Good job.
Hi Joel, I have been a big fan of yours for a long time. I have spent the past year researching internet marketing and business, and have been working towards making my own mark in the internet world. I just want you to know that I absolutely love your blog and find it extremely helpful. I also loved watching "The Next Internet Millionaire". Do you plan on doing a second installment? All the best, Brenda
please can someone publish the same article in his site at the worldvillage?
Joel I really need your help. I recently found out that my ads stopped displaying if I opened my blogger site. I have checked adsense account and I have not been banned. My blogger page elements still shows the ads are there but refuses to appear on my site. What will I do to bring back my ads?
Please I need urgent help.
Thanks.

Making my way through internet millionaires and wanted to say thanks! Amazing value, I litterally watched the first video, and thought to myself? I have 10 more? I got so much out of just the fist one! :)
Thanks!
oh, ps.
@hochati (learn how to spam, take your duplicate domains out before you blast) lol (feel free to edit this if you need to Joel) :)
First, let me just say that I think it is awesome that you disclosed what the percentage payout is of the Adsense earnings.
It makes sense to join for creating backlinks.
I haven't seen World Village sub-domains ever show up in the search results though.
Now "Hub Pages" I see all the time and "eHow" is dominant in the top placements on Google.
What makes World Village a better choice than other revenue sharing blog platforms?
very interesting and informative ideas and really helpful for me to learn what is working steps for successful blogger. it is a reality that income generation varied depending on the market. That’s a good lesson for those of us starting out. Thank you for sharing!
Great idea joel..I have been a regular reader of your website since last year...you rock...thanks for opening avenues
