My son introduced me to a game called Minecraft in 2012. Initially, I remember not showing much interest in the game. Something about building blocks and zombies. It just didn't sound very appealing.
I gave the game a try a couple months later...
... and I was hooked!
Minecraft is a game of digital Legos for people of all ages. It's ridiculously addictive and tons of fun!
Minecraft creates a massive randomly-generated world in which you can explore, craft and fight creatures as you build and develop your own world.
For some people, it's all about survival mode. As night falls, zombies, endermen and skeletons lurk both on the surface and in the subterranean depths.
Whether it is day or night, Creepers are always creeping up on you, seeking to destroy either you or that which you have built.
For others, it's about digging and digging some more. The deeper you go, the more stunning the caverns you discover and the more rare gems you may find.
And for others, it's all about putting your imagination to work and stacking various bricks, blocks, clay, glass, sandstone and other materials to form new creations where there was once an empty desert.
Once I realized that Minecraft was a great avenue for exploring creativity, I carved out a little piece of the world to call my own... and I began building.
And I built some more... and more... and even more!
The result?
A microcosm of my Minecraft creativity in the form of a massive glass tower, a pyramid, a cathedral, a cottage, a treehouse and a hedge maze.
The following video is a walkthrough of my Minecraft creation. My work doesn't hold a candle to some of the incredibly complex creations many in the massive Minecraft community have developed, but I had fun making JoelWorld. I now share it with you.
I hope you enjoy it!

I also learned the game from his son.
At the beginning I did not understand but now I quite like it :-)
