I will never forget the thrill of seeing my first video game. Pong opened the doorway to electronic gaming bliss and most in my generation have never looked back. I remember when Space Invaders and Asteroids came out, displacing the pinball machine as the game du jour. I remember begging my father for a Fairchild video game system, the predecessor to the Atari 2600. I remember playing games on my TRS-80 and being absolutely floored when computers gained the capability of producing quality graphics that surpassed the video game system.
Fast forward to 2005. Video games and computer games have advanced beyond my wildest childhood dreams. No longer do you have to drop quarters in a machine to play for another five minutes. No longer do you have to purchase a game to enjoy a new experience. The web bas become an enormous playground of wonderful diversion, all available at the click of a mouse.

My first job was working at an Arcade in 1979.
I once played Asteroids for six hours on 1 quarter and and another time went 90 minutes without losing a ship. Every friday night I would have people lined up 3-4 Deep to watch me play at the local Pizza joint. Your post brought back some good memories.
When I tell my nephews that I once thought Pong was the coolest game ever they think I'm nuts.
