Presidential Advisor

Yes, it's true. I have been a Presidential Advisor. At least that's what Mary tells me.

About 10 years ago, I was shopping at Best Buy on Central Expressway in Dallas. It was the holiday season, so the store was packed with people. I meandered my way into the software aisle, and there HE was. Who, you ask? None other than then-Governor-elect George W. Bush!

He has recently won the election for the Gov seat and he was one of the many that were in Best Buy doing some shopping. I went up to him with my hand extended and congratulated him on his recent victory, noting that I had voted for him.

He thanked me and I asked him what he was looking for. He mentioned that he was looking for good kid's software for his daughters, Jenna and Barbara. At that time, I was reviewing a great deal of software, so I was able to "advise" Governor Bush on some age-appropriate quality titles that his daughters might enjoy.

Once again, he thanked me and I went back to my shopping. As I left the aisle, it was then I noticed the two suited men, one standing on either side of the aisle. Obviously, they were not there to shop.

Anyway, that is one of many "brushes with celebrity" which I will probably post from time to time. How about you? Who have you encountered in an unlikely place?
