Remembering 9/11

Posted on September 11, 2006 1:02 PM by Joel Comm

Today is a day of reflection. I can't believe it has been five years since Islamo-fascist terrorists barbarically hijacked airplanes and flew them into the World Trade Center and The Pentagon. Time really does pass by in an instant.

As we remember the destruction wrought by evil people, lets take time to remember the lives that were lost and the impact that it has had on so many other people. I'm sure that the trauma is still quite fresh for New Yorkers, as well as for the families of those who lost loved ones.

Honestly, there are a few things that amaze me related to the entire tragedy...

1) That there are so many movies and television shows dramatizing the event, especially when television news has avoided showing footage of the attack since it happened. Bizarre.

2) That we haven't been hit again on our soil. Honestly, as inefficient as our government is, I applaud them for capturing Saddam Hussein, for proactively stopping other planned attacks and for protecting us as well as they have. While I believe the war could have been executed better and our borders better sealed, we have not experienced the same trauma on American soil again. Hopefully, we can continue to say this.

3) That there are still a number of people who aren't able to connect the dots on Al Qaida and Iraq, protesting the war in spite of clear evidence that Iraq is a haven for terrorists and our biggest threat. I just don't get it.

Nevertheless, I applaud Tony Blair of the U.K. for standing with our President and our troops these past five years. I hope the next Prime Minister of England will continue this tradition, in spite of public disapproval. Truly, one sign of a good leader is that they are not blown about by the wind. Instead, they do what they believe is best regardless of public opinion.

Remembering those who innocently lost their lives, as well as those who have heroically given their lives to defend our freedom... We salute you.

Hello Joel
I think you should have mentioned Australia too as our Prime Minister Mr John Howard is very supportive and loyal to America and Mr Bush. Despite those here who protest the sending of our soldiers onto foriegn soil to fight for a cause they do not believe to be in Australia's interests. Terrorists have already targeted and maimed Australians in Bali and other Bali holiday spots.and Muslim extremists and plotters have been found here now and imprisoned.God only knows how many we have missed.
That I personally wept everytime I saw the twin towers demolishing on Television for up to five days and the devestation I felt at such an abominable act made it feel like I was doing so, for a whole five days.I thought of those contributing people going about their everyday business these worthwhile human beings being exterminated by such as those brainwashed deranged ...good for nothing Muslim men...... It was heart wrenching. As for people protesting about the way they were being interrigated my only answer to that is : these people are not entitled to human rights ..at all.Get it out of them the best way it can be got.(Though surely there are more sophisticated and effective Pscholigical means than those used by those misguided service people who were shown and caught on TV.)?
Terrorists have no rights what so ever.
I don't care what justification they try to give.
I watched the instigator of the killing of those Jewish athletes at the Munich Olympics, interviewd in a documentary recently. That Arab, congratulated himself as to it being a well chosen event. Quite missing the point that what he violated was what the olympics stand for. In all those years he had learnt nothing. What a pig.
I was gratified to learn that what I believed to be a crime left unpunished that there was actually a secret and very effective task force of Jewish espionage people who tracked down those who were responsable and assassinated them one by one.
bloody good job.And I am not even Jewish. It was the effront to the values of the Olympics that topped it off for me and the innocence of the Athletes.

Do you truly believe that planes can knock down those buildings?

If you really do, how would you explain the 3rd building that fell down without a plane touching it?

Those 3 building were the first and last buildings of their type to EVER fall down because they were on fire. Amazing!

Maybe there is another explanation to the one that is being fed to us.

Yeah, there is an explanation Don. You are an idiot.
