Reminding Everyone to Remember

Posted on June 29, 2005 08:45 PM by Joel Comm

I believe there are insidious forces at work in America to tear down the fabric of this great nation. I believe these forces primarily reside in the extreme leadership of the Democrat party and the mainstream media. I believe these forces are the ones responsible for swaying public opinion against our brave men and women fighting the war on terror. These people despise our President and the tremendous successes he has had in this war. But these forces do not want the American public to remember what we are up against. Why do you think we never see pictures and video of 9/11? What are they afraid of?

I'll tell you what they are afraid of. They are terrified that their power is waning and that they will not regain power in this country for generations. The American public is getting wise to this ruse as they are tuning out the mainstream media in record numbers. Conservative talk radio is dominating the airwaves while the liberal Air America languishes. Fox News is crushing CNN and MSNBC (or whatever they are calling themselves for the three people that watch them anymore).

The Democrat party leadership's politics of hate and slander are turning more people away then ever before. These are the people that stand behind Senator Dick Durbin even though he spews unbelievably incredulous comments about our fine military men and women being like "nazis". Of course, these are the same people that screamed for the head of Trent Lott when he made an offhand comment which could be left open for interpretation.

Hypocrites. Bigots. Liars. And their due will come to them.

Mind you, there are millions of fine men and women who belong to the Democrat party. But more and more of them are waking up to the fact that their party has been hijacked and co-opted by a brood of vipers who don't care about the American public's true needs.

I walked into a computer store yesterday. While I was shopping, two brave men in Army uniform stopped in for shopping. I smiled at one of them and told them "thank you for your service to our country". He told me he really appreciated that. I mentioned that many of us disagree with the Dick Durbin's in this country and we stand behind our brave men and women fighting to defend us. He was obviously touched and made a sarcastic comment about the military being "warmongers".

How sad that that is the perception many Americans are being fed by the mainstream media and the treasonous Democrat party leadership. Shame on them.

The war on terror is full of so many victories that are not being reported. How many Americans have forgotten 9/11? Why is the media helping all Americans to remember this?

and this?

and this?

and this?

These same people have NO problem inundating us with images of Pearl Harbor. They have no problem reminding us again and again of the Holocaust and the attrocities performed during World War II.

Yet, at a critical time when we should ALL be behind our President and our military, they are not only silent on the attacks perpetrated against our country by evil people who want us dead, but they are incredibly vocal about ATTACKING our President and military?

So who is the face of evil now? I say the Democrat leadership and mainstream media is more culpable for damage being done to America in the eyes of the world than the terrorists who started this whole mess.

Wake up, America... especially those who still support the Nancy Pelosis, Howard Deans and Dick Durbins of this world. You are being sold a bill of goods and you are losing your country.

Here's hoping there are enough people wise enough to see through the charade and keep Hillary Clinton from ever getting near the White House again. Support the President and his forthcoming conservative judicial nominees which will be forthcoming for the Supreme Court. It's time to turn from the liberals who legislate their immorality from the bench and find some justices who aren't blind.

I know, I'm all over the map. It's just with the Supreme Court's ridiculous rulings on emminent domain and public display of the Ten Commands, Senator Durbin's comments that should have him tarred and feathered, and a leftist media which continues to attack our President and military by focusing on nonsense like the flushing of a Koran, I've had this rant building up for some time.

As for the war on terror. Remember that there are people in this world that want nothing more than to see you and me DEAD. They will stop at nothing. We must stop at nothing to stop them before they carry out their plans.

May God have mercy on America...

  1. Robert Says:

Joel, you ALWAYS seem to forget the fact that Republicans can be corrupt too. In fact, I would say that both parties are equally corrupt. BOTH parties have people that are ONLY out for themselves and care little about any of the American people. But you only see a one-sided view that rally only espouses your own party line. Again, a matter of who's right and who's wrong instead of trying to work together to REALLY solves problems facing this country. Forget 9/11? I haven't. But I also remember how many people claimed falsly that they were patriots, waved flags, but continued to live teh REAL American way, selfish and ignorant of any other people who ere hurt and bleeding. Do we need to fear other countries who would try to harm us? Sure. But we should also fear the wave of selfish, greedy, and apathetic forces that are thethings TRULY tearing the country apart. And this threat comes from ALL sides, ALL political parties, and ANYONE in this country who tries to undermine FREEDOM by trying to force their own will onto others without any regard to the thoughts and freedoms of others. Conservatives do this JUST AS MUCH as Liberals do. I listen to talk radio, and I can hear it in the hypocritical oaths spouted by many of these "hosts." America is about FREEDOM - pure and simple... and just as many liberals are trying to "hijack" America, so are many Conservative Fundamentalists who would like to see this country a thocracy - The CHRISTIAN states of America. By the way, how would you feel if someone flushed a Bible down the toilet? And the Ten Commandments? REAL freedom of religion would ALSO let Muslims swear on the Koran in court. Do I have a real problem with the Ten Commandents in public places? No. But how would you feel if someone tried to post a book on Charles Darwin in your Church? If the Ten Commandments are allowed in courts, then so should the Koran, the Hindu Vedas, and any number of other religious texts. FREEDOM of religion. Period. And we are ALL created equal - gays, blacks, whites, women, Muslims, etc... THAT DIVERSITY is the foundation of America, and BOTH parties are trying to erode it - Conservatives to make white Christian America, and Liberals to make extreme anarchy.....
Forget 9/11 - Never. But do something about it we must. And the answer is NOT to fight needless wars. It is to STRENGTHEN the resolve of the people in this country and protect our borders from within, instead of spending BILLIONS on a war abroad when the terrorists attack us from WITHIN.....Think on these things and formulate your own educated point of view, instead of just swallowing the lies of your own party line and spouting them off like you know for sure that Republicans don't do the VERY SAME thing as Democrats. THEY DO!

  2. Joel Comm Says:

    Robert,

I agree with you on some points, but not others...

    - There are corrupt Republicans. It is in the unfortunate inherant nature of politics. But the biggest problem with the Republicans is NOT doing what they were elected to do. The cower to the Dem leadership too often instead of standing up to their nonsense... for example, the filibuster fiasco.

    - the President is spending too much of our money on social programs. That is not what good conservatives do.

    - Our Country was founded on Judeo/Christian principles AND the Bible. That's why Scripture, the Ten Commandments and references to the God of the Bible are etched into the buildings. It MEANT something to them. But as Christians, the Founding Fathers said that all could enter, but live according to OUR law! That is being changed by multi-culturalists and socialists who have an agenda of their own.

    - Take away the Bible as our foundation and our nation will crumble. It is happening and will continue to happen. Those who have eyes see it clearly. Those who are blind cannot. But it is happening whether you see it, admit it or not.

    - People desecrate the Bible every day. It's a BOOK. We are in a WAR with people who want to KILL us. I don't give a rip about their book. And the fact that it is the focus of a major media story should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about our corrupt, liberal, socialist media.

Ultimately, no person, political group or anyone else can eliminate God. They can make it illegal to read the Bible, pray in public schools, etc and so forth, but God will not be mocked. And one day, all eyes will see. Justice will be rendered. And every knee will bow before Him, either in rejoicing or in fear of the wrath that will fall.

    Whoops.. now, I'm preaching. ;-)

I listen to many conservative talk show hosts. Limbaugh is right most of the time. Beck is right most of the time. Hannity is right most of the time. Some others are questionable. But their logic is impeccable, once you get past the passion and emotion. I'd love to put Limbaugh in a room with any of the Democrat leadership and let them debate. He would crush them.

I appreciate you keeping up with my rantings!

  3. Robert Says:

So, would you rather see a nice seal with an eagle and a cross depicting the "CHRISTIAN STATES OF AMERICA" where ALL "bow" before God and no other religions were tolerated? You say that America was founded Judeo-Christian? Okay, I'll give you part of that. But people moved here from England to be FREE from religious persecution. Religious persecution does not ONLY encompass Christianity. It means we have to be tolerrant of ALL religions. Many Christians PERSECUTE other people just as much as they do not want to be persecuted. What hypocritical nonsense! America is about FREEDOM OF RELIGION!!!!!! That means that ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL religions are tolerated and accepted here. If you take away religious FREEDOM, NOT if you take away the Bible, the nation will crumble. Or would you rather have a country of white Christian men running everything? In your world, I guess we will have to bow down before eagle holding a Bible soon. Adolf Hitler would be proud. Only in this case, the master race are white Christian men.

  4. Robert Says:

Oh, one other quick thing.....the President IS NOT spending too much on social programs....he is spending TOO LITTLE. There is TOO MUCH spent on the MILITARY!!!! Hmmm...how much does one jet fighter cost - a couple million? That's more than most people may make in 5 lifetimes. But you have never been poor, so you have no idea what I am talking about. Try living on welfare sometime, just try it! Or better yet, try living on minimum wage - 80 hours a week on $5.15 an hour. 2 or 3 jobs and STILL not able to pay for rent, let alone a car. Honest hard work that does not get anyone anywhere. Millions of people do it every day. Ted Kennedy has been trying to raise the minimum wage for years and is ALWAYS shot down. Keep people poor and stupid - THAT is what the government thinks of Americans. Starve out the poor and feed the rich people for the Capitalist agenda. Some parts of socialism DO work better. At least everyone might have equal footing when they are born, instead of life always depending on who your mommy and daddy were and who you know. Then they could actually use their "god-given" talents to their full potential, instead of being squashed in a fight to just simply survive. But you have never been poor, so you have no idea what I am talking about. Try being poor for awhile and see how that might change your opinion.... Or would you rather see the government cast aside the poor and watch them die in the streets because they CANNOT EVER afford healthcare without government help? Hmmm.... I guess we will see.....

  5. Joel Comm Says:

Slow down there, Robert.. you are gonna bust a gasket.

    1) I NEVER said that Christianity should be FORCED on anyone! You can't do it. Not only is it impossible, but it is contrary to Scripture. What I said is that we should have full recognition that it is what this country is founded on and leave that foundation alone.

Here's some info for you about the reason our Founding Fathers left Mother England. The STATE was enforcing a DENOMINATION, the Anglican Church. The Christians in Britain did not want a state-endorsed denomination. Separation of Church and State was about keeping the STATE out of the business of the CHURCH, and NOT keeping the CHURCH out of the business of the STATE. In fact, if you read the Founding Fathers you will find that many agree that a nation built on anything less than Scriptural foundation was NO foundation at all.

With that said, of COURSE people of other faiths are allowed here! That is what America is all about! Just don't come in to this country and tell us to change the foundations!

    Analogy.

You invite me to move into your house. You treat me like a family member, providing opportunity to have my own room, enjoy the food in the kitchen, etc.etc..

After getting all cozy, I tell you that I don't like the colors of the walls. I inform you that the furniture needs to be moved. And then I insist that you change the rules of the house. Rude, huh? That's what happens when people come here and try to change our foundations. It's wrong. And it will lead to a collapse.

Regarding your rant on the military, minimum wage, health care, etc... these are all fundamental faults with the liberal way of thinking. Liberals think that Government is better equipped to handle social ills than people are. Even with the billions of dollars thrown at social ills, things only get worse. I don't know when people are going to get it... sigh...

It's NOT that we don't care about social ills. It's just that conservative solutions are different, and they really work.

    Joel

  6. Robert Says:

Fair enough, in some ways. But I am sure that if you had to move into somewhere like China you would probably REFUSE to abide by their rules and do EVERYTHING you could to change them and their culture. Case in point, the population control where girls are killed because they are useless. And I don't think that you would be wrong in doing so. But by your logic people who come to America must abide by Christian rules and no others. You are acting EXACTLY like the Communist Chinese would if you told them they had to run their country your way. they would tell you to stuff it, in no uncertain terms, the same way you are INSULTING all others who question the "American" Christian way of life. Dissent IS American, and diversity IS American. Those who seek to stifle the voicesa of those who use their America rights of questioning the government are helping to destroy this country. If you cannot question the government or speak out in disagreement, you ARE promoting Communism. Anyway, just to clarify something here - I do not post on this site in hopes of changing your mind, I know that you are too stubborn and determined that you are right to change, but I do post just to show you and others that there are other points of view than Christian, from intelligent and MORAL people, that do not have to believe in religion or the brainwashing of either Liberals or Conservatives to be good honest hardworking people. Sometimes people are just people, and ALL religions and lifestyles in this country, as long as they are caring and tolerant of others and GIVE to others instaed of take - are valid and true and reasonable. Fare thee well for now....

  7. Joel Says:

There you go again, Robert.. casting me as the villian and making me in the image that is most convenient. Clarification time and reality check.

    1) Population control in China IS wrong. It's good that we can clearly spot evil and call it for what it is. Would I go there and try to change the policy? If I was a citizen, you bet I would! Why? Because murder is wrong. (It's also wrong here, but our law allows abortion...)

    2) I NEVER said people had to abide "Christian" rules. I said that they should respect the foundation and roots of our nation, and that which made it great. Without Christianity and the Bible, America would never have had a reason for being. It is the loss of this knowledge that will be our downfall.

So go ahead, dissent. Be diverse. That's fine. No one is stopping you. In fact, you'll notice that I ALLOW it on my personal blog. How narrow-minded of me ;-)

I don't live in an ambiguous world, Robert. There is right and there is wrong. Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.

  8. Robert Says:

One final, quick, and "short" comment. I do not live in an ambiguous world, either. I firmly believe and right and wrong. I just simply believe that people all over the world, all walks of life, and all religions have their own version of right and wrong, some have things in common, some are very different. I just believe that good, just, and sensible morality DOES NOT have to come from some invisible God. It is within us, ALL of us to be moral, intelligent, and upstanding people. We need to bond together as PEOPLE and agree on the common ground of what most cultures and religions around the world to believe right and wrong and rally for a unification of HUMANITY, not not Americans, Christians, etc...Thsoe who stand for nothing will fall for anything, indeed. I DO stand fr something, it is just apparantly different from what you stand for. I stand for HUMILITY, COMPASSION, and UNDERSTANDING of other people and their beliefs and show TOLERANCE and ACCEPTANCE of those who are different from me. It is NOT a black and white world, and those who have lived a little, seen a little, and are not sheltered from the truth of the REAL world, can see that decisions are not always as easy as black or white. It is very easy and CONVIENT to believe that choices are so easy as ONLY right or ONLY wrong. Ask some people who have REALLY lived through hard times and you will see that this is true. In my job as an aide and therapist, I see this all of the time.... Fare thee welll for now....

  9. Joel Says:

    Robert,

    1) It is philosophically and logically IMPOSSIBLE to have "versions" of right and wrong. It is an absurd statement. Something is either right or it isn't. The idea of "versions" does not come from a decided mind. It comes from one that does not really know what to believe. I attempt to live in a reality that is far more grounded. Otherwise, everything is relative and there are no absolutes. In a world like that, anything goes... sounds pretty chaotic to me.

    2) Morality MUST come from God. It cannot come from a vacuum. Read "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. Originally an agnostic, Lewis broke it down to the lowest common denominator and came to the same conclusion. Morality cannot exist without a superior being. A painting does not give itself meaning. The meaning comes from the creator. And if the creator wishes, meaning can be derived by the viewer. But ultimate meaning and context comes from the creator of the work. Merely an illustration which one can apply to the bigger picture.

    3) Humility. Compassion. Understanding. These are all virtues. And they are virtues that I continually "try" to exemplify. I fail.. .frequently... often.. But I try. It's part of being human. Tolerance, however, is NOT a virtue. It is a character trait which is sometimes a good thing, and sometimes a bad thing. We don't tolerate people who break the law. We arrest them. But we can STILL have compassion and understanding for them. See the difference?

I agree that choices CAN be difficult! I never said they weren't, so I don't know where you come up with that. But that doesn't mean there aren't right choices and wrong choices.

The irony of your statements is that you are INTOLERANT of my point of view! Something to consider as you enjoy this holiday weekend made possible by our God-fearing Founding Fathers and the God who makes true freedom in the heart of man possible. :-)

    Joel

  10. Robert Says:

Hmmm.... God fearing? Why does somthing have to instill "fear" on something to respect it? I wonder. Sounds more like CONTROL to me. I am not "intolerant" of your point of view. I actually applaud it. However, that does not mean that I do not applaud other people's views as well. I think you may be missing out on a wealth of knowledge and good people if you limit yourself to claiming that yours is the ONLY truth. We need to find and repect the COMMON good that is in ALL people or this nation, this world is doomed. If we cannot stop fighting over trivial things and work together for a common good, then we will destroy ourselves long before whatever REAL truth may exist can be revealed. I for one wish to see humanity reach its fullest potential, and not destroy ourselves in a cauldron of hatred by being intolerant of the OBVIOUS fact that there are many people who beileve in MANY different things. If we lose ourselves, like you seem to do sometimes, in an "I'm right, and ONLY my way is right for all, and the rest of you who believe differently are ABSOLUTELY wrong," we are a doomed culture. Think on these things as you head into the hoilday weekend, a celebration of FREEDOM for ALL, not JUST Christians. The Bible did not make this country great (if it is really great, sometimes I wonder) the PEOPLE who died for our "freedoms" made it great - people of ALL faiths and ALL walks of life..... (even some gays and people who married out of wedlock, and worshipped different gods - THEY are the heroes....

  11. Joel Says:

    Robert,

"God-fearing" in a Biblical sense does not mean "be afraid of". Rather, it is a sense of awe and respect for who God is and for His power.

And let's be honest. You certainly do NOT applaud my view. Anyone who reads this blog can clearly see that you are judgmental and condemning as to my point of view. You are continually telling me that my point of view is wrong. Doesn't sound like tolerance to me.

I agree with you that people believe many different things. What you fail to grasp is that just because people believe something, it does not make that something true or right. People can be VERY sincere. And they can be sincerely wrong.

The true quest for truth begins when one begins searching for what is true, not when one automatically accepts the relativistic theory that whatever you want to be true is true. That is thoughtless nonsense.

And July 4th is NOT a celebration of freedom for all. It is a celebration of freedom for Americans. And yes, those who have sacrificed for this nation are heroes. Without a doubt, I salute them.

  12. B. Osborn Says:

Hi, I am a Christian, but I find it unsettling to go to church with preachers preaching their Republican politics. You (and preachers) should keep that opinion to themselves, I'm sorry. But there are a lot of great Democrats out there that only want to help people in this world. Because one person thinks that is the WAY it should be, doesn't mean it is so. You may end up losing people to the congretation if you make someone feel like an outsider. Just my opinion.
