There is just too much to talk about today. I'm not sure where to start, so I'll just hit the highlights...
But the greatest news of all is that God is still on His throne. None of this has caught Him off guard. So whatever else is taking place, we can chill out and trust Him.

Personally, I've rather enjoyed "T's" occasional ventures into the "ruckus!" Always food for thought and generally makes for interesting reading. ; )
Just some food for thought dealing with the article on pedophielia in the "evil" section of today's stories - why is pedophielia being associated with same gender loving? ( It won't let me post the word that also means "happy" here - I guess it's too "strong" a word - only the "head honcho" here can post such horribly controversial words - notice the cynicism.) My main question posed to you all is how can you claim to be Christain and be so judgemental. For the record, let me clarify that I am neither same gender loving nor am I a Christain, nor am I a "bleeding heart" liberal, nor am I a staunch conservative. I work with troubled children and would like to think that I am trying to make a difference in someone's life every day. Yes, I am agnostic, but I put forth my greatest effort to help people and treat all people with respect and equality. In fact, I am doing what Christans claim to stand for, yet I do not believe in all of the same things. WE ARE ALL PEOPLE!!!! Why must same genders be treated with such disrespect from some of the more fundamentalist Christians. I AM TOTALLY AGAINST PEDOPHIELIA!!!!! BUT MOLESTING CHILDREN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING SAME GENDER LOVING! In fact, I have met many children who have been molested, a lot of times by their own family - THEIR OWN STRAIGHT FAMILY - in a couple of cases the perpetrators were PREACHERS!!! The effects of such molestation can be horrible, and change a child's life forever. It is nothing to joke about. BUT BEING SAME GENDER LOVING DOES NOT MEAN Someone is a CHILD MOLESTOR!! To insinuate such is nothing but judgemental and hateful - so much for being a good Christian. HA! Many of the ideas portrayed on this page are very biased towards same gender loving being wrong - but so what - PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE - you might as well join the KKK and hate blacks too. It angers me that you people are so caught up in what you think God wants that you fail to realize how important ALL people of ALL lifestyles and religions are to this world. The only behavior that you should be judging is that behavior which causes harm to others, like child molestation and people on power trips and domestic abuse ( which can be between a man and a woman - your sacred union) - I'd rather see two same genders marry any day than a man beat his wife) Why don't you all stop to think for a minute how CLOSE_MINDED you sound, and think about the fact that if God loves ALL people, maybe you should too.
I'm sorry you are so upset, but your categorization of me and my beliefs is incorrect.
1) I don't HATE anyone. Disagreeing with same gender loving, as you say, is a moral choice, not one based in my personal dislike. It is wrong, plain and simple. I don't hate those who practice it. On the contrary, I have known several such people in my life and they have all struggled with their feelings. I feel sorry for them. I most certainly don't hate them!
2) It is very "Christian" to call this behavior wrong. The Bible is more than clear that is is abherrant (sp?) behavior and displeasing to God. The Bible also lumps in sins such as murder, lying, and stealing in the same breath. No sin is worse than any other in God's eyes. I'm just calling it what He calls it. If you have a problem, it is with God and His Word, not me. :-)
I apologize for my rather harsh sounding words in a previous post, but it is perhaps not directed entirely at you personally, but at the groups of fundamentalists who have been so hateful to others in recent times. In well say thparticular, the words of that article that describe "the next phase of the "same gender" - it won't let me post if I call these people by their typical label - agenda - the article makes it seem that all people of said label are trying to destroy the world as we know it in some evil conspiracy. That is so ridiculus you might as well say that they shot JFK too. The opinions here seem to bash liberals for saying that Bush and his administration are evil and have a conspiracy going - but phrases like the "same gender agenda" are basically saying the same thing about these people. I applaud you for perhaps trying to help people of this orientation that you have known through your life, but telling them that they are wrong and all of their feelings will hurt God and probably damn them to Hell will not help them solve their conflict. Only understanding and love can help them. And, the fact is, that God hmself (in your belief system) knows what it going on with them. I would think He would make it easier for them. I have known many of these people who did things to seek attention because of evils that others have done to them - again sometimes by so-called religious people. I also realize that some people just feel that way because they feel that way. There is no evil in it, Just who they are. So, why would God create them to be that way if He did not like it. ( I know, it is a test of their faith, right?) But, imagine how it would feel to think that your Creator made you wrong and everything you felt was right was a sin. How horrible! I don't think your loving God would cause so much unnecessay pain in someone, do you? There is so much I could say here, and I am not trying to be controversial, just intellectual about things that don't make sense. And the fundamentalists take things way too far too. - Aren't the Taliban fundamentalists of their religion? Why are Christian fundamentalists any better? Because they worship a different God? I am agnostic and I suppose I do have some issues with "God's word" as you call it. The reason being that it is so limiting. There are 6 Billion people on this planet, and a large majority don't believe in Christianity. All those people are NOT evil and are NOT sinners. They are ALL important to this world, regardless of their belief system. I hope that you find a place in the Heaven I would like to believe exists - a place where ALL people of ALL races and ALL lifestyles and ALL religons can live in peace with each other. I am not insulting your God - in fact I am compimenting Him. The Universe is TOO BIG for just your God and your rules to exist. If anything, He is more wonderful than any of us here can ever begin to imagine. There is more to this Universe than any human mind can even begin to grasp. Maybe one day we will get a small glimpse of what the REAL TRUTH may be and what may REALLY exist out there. I hope that you are there to see it too. Best wishes.....
Baptists are indenial about a lot of things, the ones that follow are the ones with weak minds.
You are saying that being gay is wrong in GOD's eyes, but in fact how do you know if GOD thinks being baptist is wrong in GOD's eyes, i mean you people kill trees to make bibles, shouldnt those bibles be a sin, to read. You read something and spread it like sickness. You make the whole world suffer from what you read out of a dead tree. Long time ago when i was only 5 years old, my mother met this preacher, who sub-ed for our church, and he was so nice to all the children, so nice that he molested me and 2 other kids. He did this to me for about a year, until my kindergarden teacher, found out that i was becoming anti-social. Now i am 23 years old, and i am agoraphobic, i am afraid of people and the outside world. And the funny part is, you people say, its my lack of faith in GOD. Well GOD hasnt experienced what it is like to be molested by a preacher, so GOD can kiss my ass and so can all you people who make others suffer just because of a dead tree, that you read out of. I am not saying that my faith in GOD is gone, i do believe in GOD very much. I do pray to him and talk to him in my dreams, but you people are just awful to spread that book like a disease.
God is dead, and the words of god are dead. The only thing that means anything, is yer faith in god. Not bullshit hatred, and sins, sins are like lollypops compared to GOD. God loves you no matter if yer gay straight, bi, shemale, doesnt matter. GOD loves everyone, EXCEPT those who spread hatred. You baptists, you people hate so much that yer hatred is turning this country into a malice way of life.

I am terribly sorry that you were so wounded by people who professed to be Christians. I am sorry that you pain has caused to to turn your back on God.
But there are a few things you should understand.
1) God hates what happened to you. HATES it. Period.
2) God loves you and He understands what you are going through.
3) People will fail you again and again. That's precisely why God is so wonderful. He will never fail you, if you turn to Him.
You say God is dead, but then you say your faith in God is not gone and that you believe Him. I know it is difficult to believe in a God that would allow something so terrible to happen to you. And it isn't your fault. It is the result of living in a sinful, fallen world with fallen people who do sinful, fallen things.
I don't know of any Biblical Christians that "Hate" homosexuals. Not one. I know what the Bible says about homosexuality, and I also know what it says about liars, cheaters, thieves, rapists, murderers, etc. Sin is sin in God's eyes.
Baptists? I'm not one, so I can't really speak for that.
God loves you and He wants you to KNOW Him. But you'll need to come to Him for that. He won't force Himself on you.
May I suggest that you begin by seeking help? There is healing for victims of sexual abuse!

Your posts mad me feel very sad. Unfortunately, because of some bad experiences you've had with people who've called themselves Christians, you've decided not to pursue the idea of having a Savior. The definition of Christian, is Christ-like. A lot of times, people become "Born-Again", but do not live their lives in a Christ-like manner. Then, there are those who claim to be Christians, who really have no idea what that actually means. I believe the 'pastor' you (Matt), spoke about was one of those. Please, don't let them stand in the way of you becoming a "Born-Again-Believer" in Jesus. Accepting Him as your Savior, is the BEST and MOST IMPORTANT decision you will ever make.
