So Proud of My Mother

Posted on March 16, 2006 04:45 PM by Joel Comm

I am just thrilled with my mom right now. A few days ago I wrote about her new blog, TravelsWithSheila.com. Since starting her blog, she has been dilligently working hard to create new content and understand the entire blogging process. I love the way she has taken the bull by the horns and is really wanting to excel with this project.

We spent an hour or so on the phone today and I taught her how to create hyperlinks. She is no looking to buy a laptop so she can write articles and blog while she is on her travels.

She's also excited because the site has already earned over $10.00! This has her highly motivated.

My mom and her desire to succeed with this project should be inspirational to anyone who is just getting started with building a web site. Many people purchase my ebooks, but I suspect that only a minority actually follows through and takes the steps to build a successful web site.

Anyone can do this! Follow those who know what they are doing and do not give up. Rome wasn't built in a day and content-rich websites take time to build. But for those who persist, there are great rewards.

I'll be following mom's site carefully and will report back. I believe she is building a case study that we will refer to in the future.

Joel, I've just popped over to your Mom's blog, and am bowled over by its clean design, and also the ad location which did not detract from the blog at all, and yet were prominent enough to be noticed. I've just forwarded your newsletter to my Mom, and I'm sure she'll be inspired as I have been. Thanks for sharing this with us.
