Study Links Celebrex to Heart Problems

Look out folks, another anti-arthritis drug has been linked to cardiovascular problems. Pfizer says a new study found an increased risk of heart problems with the painkiller Celebrex. Last month, Vioxx was withdrawn from the market.

You know what this means, doncha? Unleash the ambulence chasers! The sue-happy attorneys now have more red meat with which to deepen their pockets and chase the price of medical care and drugs higher and higher.

Essentially, the study found that people who take high doses of Celebrex have an increased risk of heart troubles. However, Pfizer plans to leave the drug on the market anyhow.

Is there any truly SAFE medication? Everything carries risks and most everything has some sort of side effect. How can you alter the chemical composition of the way your body functions and NOT have side effects?

Its just so darned hard to know who to trust these days. Many physicians don't do research anymore. They just listen to the pharmaceutical reps who visit their offices, delivering the latest samples and news of wonder drugs. The doctors are so laden down with patients, they don't have the time to sort through the maze of medications, let alone research alternative treatments. I try to go with natural alternatives whenever possible.

Are you thinking the legal community will turn out something like John Grisham's "King of Torts"? It was an interesting read but a lawyer friend thought it was too far fetched. Sad thing about the medication though, sad & frightening.
