The Swift Boat Vets have two new advertisements which are due to run during Monday Night Football on October 18th. They are incredibly persuasive and might even break through the hard shell of some Kerry diehards. At the very least, they will push some more of those "undecideds" to the Bush column. Well done SwiftVets. Thank you for having the courage to stand up and call Kerry on the carpet. And thank you for your courageous service.

No, I did not serve. I am also not running for President of the United States. Not sure what your point is, but the Swift Boat Vets are making their point quite clearly. The are overwhelmingly stating that John Kerry is Unfit for Command.

My point is that you are spouting your usual "holier-than-thou" attitude.
It always cracks me up that when people speak crtically about what John kerry did during and after the vietnam war, the first thing Kerry supporters do is throw up their hands with a bunch of irrelevant defenses. "Did you serve?" "Well, Bush didn't go to vietnam, he got favoritism." "John Kerry served with valor, he's got medals dammnit!" What does that have to do with anything? Stop, be quiet for one second before immediately putting up that brick wall and think! Then address the other stuff later. Don't just deflect. Virtually every one of the people who have served with Kerry are speaking out about his actions in Vietnam. The physicians that treated his "wounds", his commanders and fellow officers, men who were in the same skirmishes. Kerry has 3 or 4 men supporting his claims, and there are well over 50 men who speak against Kerry refuting his claims.
Criticize Bush all you want...he at least has had the guts to release his medical records. John Kerry refuses to release his. Why? Because they hold evidence that his 3 purple hearts (that he got early release for after 4 months of service instead of the standard year) were little more than scratches. He submitted himself for his medals. Then he came back and slandered the good names of the men who served honorably during the war. Kerry met with the Viet Cong WHILE he was still carrying the title of officer and the war was still on-going. He lied about his being in cambodia under some sort of "illegal mission." And his medical records very likely hold the record of his dishonorable discharge from the military that was doctored up years later through his political influence to show an honorable release. Bush released his records Kerry, and you criticized them. Now let's see what you've got hidden away?
This is a man that betrayed his country and the men he served with...regardless of any honorable service he performed in Vietnam. How can anyone say that this is not relevant when this man is asking to be entrusted as commander in chief of our armed forces during a time of war?
John Kerry received a silver star for chasing down a lone injured viet cong soldier and killing him, then picking up an enemy weapon. He submitted himself for his medals by all accounts. My brother in the Iraq war was put up for a silver star by his own platoon after leading a charge under extremely heavy fire to go into a town and rescue 30 marines who were pinned down, the captain of which had his hand blown off. My brother was killed in the week following the rescue. My brother received nothing. Why? Because he was a marine and any marine will tell you, he was doing his job. Kerry has disgraced his country. He has lied about his past. He has proven he will say and do almost anything for his personal glory and political gain. He said during Wednesday' night's debate the hollow words, "integrity, integrity, integrity" as he look stone faced into the camera. The man doesn't know the meaning of the word. Bush isn't perfect but I'll take his word any day over the word of Kerry. These swifties were wronged. terribly wronged...and they have damn well earned the right to speak out. Kerry's supporters should at least give them the courtesy of listening and getting all the facts before blowing them off. No reason to put your head in the sand.

In fact, there is a story that might break suggesting that Kerry was not honorably discharged at all. If it is true, it would make for a great October surprise.

John Kerry's honorable discharge papers are public record. Are you seriousy to have us believe that Kerry forged his discharge records?
Also, if it is fair for you to spread rumors about Kerry then it is fair for me to share that Kitty Kelly's book claims that George Bush paid for a girfriend to have an abortion and that he was a cocaine user.
Wow! Someone here actually admitted that Bush is not perfect! Amazing! As I have said before, neither Bush nor Kerry is quite as honorable as they would like us to think, I'm sure. Kerry's integrity is questionable because of the possible, I stress possibility, of forging his wartime record. Bush's motives are questioned regarding his REAL reasons for going to war. Is this any suprise? They are both politicians. Lying about their real motives is what politicians do best. "There is nothing new under the sun." If you ask me, it is all a crock. But to bash those who question the Presiden's motives for war in Iraq is NOT unpatriotic and NOT unAmerican. In fact, it is the use of free thought and free speech that we have here in America. How much more American is that - we should question our government - it is a democratic right. Vietnam and Iraq were probably two of the bigger mistakes that the US has made. Both of these wars caused great controversy among the people and widened the gap between liberals and conservatives. It has bred more hatred between the two groups - when we are ALL Americans, conservative or liberal. Those who may question the government are NOT brainwashed by "liberal thinking". They just see things differently from others. Brainwashed people are fanatics of any political group or religion who refuse to budge from their point of view to try to understand others. The religious far right in this country, the carefree far left, the radical Islam groups - all are the same - they are fanatical about their beliefs and believe all others are wrong. Free thought is not "sheep being led to slaughter" It seems that certain people here say they won't be swayed by lies and deceit of liberals and won't give in to the pressure of agreeing with everyone else. well, I know of many liberals that have felt the same way about conservatives and Christians that try to force them to believe "the Truth." If you insult other ways of thinking (of the sheep), aren't you doing the same thing you accuse the liberals of doing? I hear the hypocricy bell ringing! Let's examine the definition of brainwashing here. Maybe nobody is right and nobody is wrong. Maybe everybody has their own "Truth". What's so wrong with that, in a free-thinking society?

As for the Bush accusations, that was attempted in the 2000 election and didn't go anywhere.
If it is true, he should be honest about it and move on. But there is nothing to substantiate it.
Why won't John Kerry sign a Department of Defense form 180 that would release all his military records? Does this not breed suspicion?
