Multiplayer Games in Apple's Game Center

Posted on December 7, 2010 12:03 PM

Apple's Game Center continues to gain traction with iPhone and iPod Touch users. After all, what better way to kill time waiting for the bus or at the airport than with an endless supply of video games at your fingertips? However, only a handful of the 200-plus games in the Game Center have true multiplayer functionality. That is rapidly changing thought, partly with the help of one of InfoMedia Inc's sister companies, Digital Future. Continue Reading

Last year my company released a revolutionary new platform for the iPhone. It was called GameDock, and it was the world's first multiplayer gaming platform for the iPhone and iPod Touch. While OpenFeint and Plus+ were creating leaderboards and achievement functionality, we had done what no other developer had done... created a matching system that would allow you to add friends and invite them to play our games in real time from anywhere in the... Blogging from the Beach

It was 1979 and I was fifteen years old. I remember staring at the magazine in pure lust. I turned page after page, gawking at the pictures and wishing I could have what was on them. You would think the pictures would have been enough, but I also read every word. I knew that this was something I would be willing to spend my money on. This was worth saving for. $500 may have seemed... Continue Reading

iVote Mobile for iPhone

When Apple released the iPhone in 2007, they effectively announced "game over" to the rest of the cell phone world. With the release of the 3G and the iTunes App Store, Apple puts another nail in the coffin of wannabees who will arrive late to this party. The moment I saw the App Store, I realized that I had to begin producing applications that the installed user base of 10,000,000 iPhone users would embrace. I'm... Continue Reading

The long-awaited day has arrived. Not only is Apple releasing the brand new iPhone 3G phone, which promises to do everything but do your dishes, but they are also releasing the new iPhone 2.0 firmware which promises to bring new functionality to current iPhone hardware. I woke up early today and plugged in my iPhone to find that the 2.0 update had rolled out to my area. I told iTunes to download v2.0, backup my... Continue Reading
