In a move that has brought criticism from both sides of the political aisle, President Bush has nominated White House lead counsel, Harriet Miers, to the highest court in the land. Though Ms. Miers has no paper trail related to judicial decisions (as she is not a judge), she does appear to be a pro-life Christian, and one with definitive views towards the Constitution. Here we go again. A federal judge in California (9th Circuit Court of Appeals) has ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because it includes the words "Under God". This highlights the reason that it is critical for Bush's appointee, Judge John Roberts, to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
