Joel at 190 Pounds

Posted on December 2, 2010 12:25 AM

Yesterday I scared little children around the world with photos of me at 225 pounds. I did warn you beforehand, so please don't send me your psycho-analysis and therapy bills. For the past three months I have been on The Joel Comm Diet, which is not a diet at all. Instead it combines common sense with a plan that works for me. I am pleased to say that three months later I have lost 35... Continue Reading

The Compound Effect

Posted on October 13, 2010 8:00 AM

I've been at Project Fit for about a month now. My goal has been to prove you don't need to go to extremes in order to lose weight and become healthier. There's nothing wrong with extreme exercising as it really can't do you harm. But there is a problem with extreme dieting. I don't want to be extreme in any way. After reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, I wanted to put his theories... Continue Reading

Business Networking with Location-Based Services

Posted on February 4, 2010 12:23 PM

Where Are You Now? Location-based services like Foursquare, Gowalla, and BlockChalk are all the rage these days, possibly because they're still so new, but probably also because they offer users the ability to turn their mobile phone addictions into something that can have very tangible real-world benefits in terms of building and maintaining relationships. And while a lot of the attention has been on how these services can facilitate impromptu run-ins with your friends, there... Continue Reading

The Seven Keys of the Top One Percent

Posted on May 20, 2008 1:23 AM

What is it that makes successful people stand out from the crowd? Or perhaps I should ask the question this way... What are the things that successful people DO that everyone else does not do? I believe we are all dealt a hand in life. On very rare occassion that hand is stacked with a full house, but in most cases we're fortunate if we are dealt a pair of twos. And whether or not... Sharing the Secret

Posted on August 20, 2006 10:38 AM

Today's entry has nothing to do with Internet marketing, making money online, AdSense or anything else of this nature. It is of far greater importance and consequence. Several weeks ago, a church that we had visited had announced an upcoming series called "My Secret". Acknowledging that people within the church have just as many problems as people outside the church, the point of the series is to help people see that they are not alone... Continue Reading

SuDoKu is the hottest thing to come out of Japan since the Sony Playstation. What is SuDoKu? Simply put, it is a Japanese logic puzzle game that you can play on paper or on the computer. Essentially, you have nine 3 x 3 grids, aligned to form one 9 x 9 grid. Within each 3 x 3 grid, you must use every number from 1 to 9 only one time. But within the 9 x... Continue Reading

Looking for a new adventure

Posted on June 25, 2004 2:00 AM

I have been wanting to find a new PC game to play, of the massive multiplayer style. I went through my Star Wars Galaxies addiction last year. I played City of Heroes for about 3 weeks recently, before getting bored. And I am having a difficult time finding something new that peaks my interest. I tried the Sim onlines for about 10 minutes when it came out last year. Yawn. I downloaded a free trial... Continue Reading

189 pounds

Posted on May 21, 2003 9:07 AM

I am eager to get past this leveling off in my metabolism. It's falling off a bit slower this week, but I remember this happening last time. It seems like I am going nowhere and then the bottom drops out and more pounds falls off quickly. I've been VERY good about my eating habits. I had some Thai food for the first time yesterday. It was a spicy chicken with white rice, bamboo shoots, carrots... Continue Reading

I'm Addicted!

Posted on May 12, 2003 11:05 PM

About 3-4 weeks ago, MrsMayor innocently surfed the web looking for a time-waster... a diversion, if you will. She succeeded by landing at PopCap Games. She remembered that I previously downloaded a game called Bejeweled, which has kept us both busy for countless hours. However, on this particular day, I found her playing a new game called Big Money. Folks, this game has done BOTH of us in! The kids will enter our office and... Continue Reading
