I can't believe I have been doing business online since 1995. It seems like so long ago, and yet just yesterday. The first ten or so years were spent creating content-rich websites for the consumer marketplace. I built and sold several of these sites. It wasn't until 2005 that I entered the Internet marketing arena with my first ebook, "What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense." Over two dozen ebooks, several products... Over the past sixteen years one of my key focuses has been building content-rich websites. I've had some great success working this model, including the recent sale of one of my sites. I am now looking to acquire additional niche sites for my portfolio. This could include blogs, member sites, forums or product sites. A number of my readers have approached me with solicitations to purchase their sites over the years, so I thought I... Continue Reading

On September 1st, 2010, I weighed in at over 225 pounds. I didn't step on the scale often because it wasn't very good news. My energy levels were low. My blood pressure was high. And I was moody. I didn't want to feel that way anymore. I had lost weight in the past, but I wasn't sure I could do it again. After all, I DID balloon back to my previous weight AND put on... Continue Reading

If you've been using AdSense for Search, you'll know that last year, Google shut it down. If you wanted to continue to offer your users a search function -- and earn revenue from ad clicks when those users conducted their searches -- you needed to use Google's Custom Search Engine and attach it to your AdSense account. Continue Reading

First of all, I want to wish all my family, friends and associates in the United States a very Happy Thanksgiving. I'm sure it will be filled with lots of fun, bonding and good food. I may have to put a couple pounds back on today. Now, what's with this Green Friday thing? As you know, the Friday after Thanksgiving is typically known as Black Friday. It's the day that people camp out in line... Continue Reading

It's not uncommon for marketers to use upsells and downsells in order to gain a new customer and make a sale. Downsells typically offer the same product or some derivative of that product at a discounted price. Upsells will usually come after a sale has been made, and offer extra goods or services for an additional fee. There's nothing wrong with upselling or downselling in theory. But I do believe there are cases where integrity... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) Twitter grows more popular each and every day and more and more users are discovering it and putting it to use. Since the beginning, Twitter has struggled to meet this demand and it has been a big challenge for them to not only meet the current demand that their users have, but also to provide additional value to those users. One of the reasons that I have been reluctant... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) So much to do, so little time. You've been working on a project for weeks, and the end still doesn't seem to be in sight. The deadline keeps getting pushed back further and further, but you must press on. You're beginning to feel overwhelmed and your productivity is steadily declining. You probably find yourself wasting more time than usual and you try to find excuses to leave your desk... Continue Reading

One thing is becoming increasingly clear: mobile web browsing is quickly catching up to and surpassing desktop browsing. With more people having access to mobile-enabled cell phones than computers, the number of mobile devices browsing the web is increasing at an enormous rate. Continue Reading

It's hard to believe that I have been in the AdSense program since its inception in June 2003. In that time, I have generated a substantial passive income by placing AdSense code on my pages. And I have enjoyed writing training materials that have helped others make money with AdSense. But one of the most frequently asked questions that comes my way centers on what percentage of each click Google pays to the AdSense publisher... Continue Reading
