Find the Perfect Spokesperson

Posted on May 24, 2010 1:22 PM

(Written by guest contributor Chris Harper) Have you ever seen a television commercial that just drives you nuts because of the spokesperson they use? I can think of at least two regional companies here in Colorado that fall into that category for me. In both cases, the "actor" has a close tie to the company being advertised. For one it's the owner, and for the other one it's the owner's kid that serves as their... Continue Reading

Plan for the Arrival of Contactless Payments

Posted on May 11, 2010 4:02 PM

(Written by guest contributor Joel Ownby) Contactless payments are certainly the wave of the future. They're already a huge trend in Europe and Asia. Contactless payments are poised to revolutionize commerce in the United States. Many of the largest chains have already adopted cashless payment systems and many "touch and go" devices are now available from the largest merchants, credit card companies, and mobile telecommunication service providers. Wikipedia has the following to say about contactless... Continue Reading

This is my home

Posted on January 10, 2009 11:48 AM

It doesn't happen often. But it does happen. And when it does, I have to shake my head and wonder what some people are thinking. What am I talking about? Well, let me set the stage for you with a little anecdote. Continue Reading

American Airlines Customer Service Complaint

Posted on January 20, 2008 12:32 AM

Does American Airlines have good customer service? Once again, I find myself on the "I can't believe this is happening" end of a telephone conversation with a customer service rep. Here's the story. I had booked a flight using reward miles to fly someone from Dallas to Denver in a couple weeks. As it turns out, he is going to drive here a few days early and won't require the initial leg of the flight... Continue Reading

Sony PSP

Posted on April 12, 2006 7:21 PM

I did it. I bit the PSP bullet and forked over my cash to Sony. I've been playing video games and computer games ever since there was such a beast. I remember when Pong first arrived on the scene. I owned a Fairchild Channel One video game system (the failed precursor to the Atari home video game system that sold millions of units). I've owned Nintendos, Playstations, XBox's and who knows what else. It was... Continue Reading

War of the Worlds

Posted on July 2, 2005 12:00 AM

Tonight, I grudgingly sat through War of the Worlds. I went with Mary and another couple because we wanted to do something and all the other movies looked like garbage. The movie promised that I would be "on the edge of my seat". And I was. But that was only because I was slumped so far into my chair that my butt was hanging over the edge of the seat. With the exception of some... Continue Reading

World of Warcraft

Posted on December 20, 2004 10:41 AM

I friend recently recommended that I give a look at World of Warcraft, the latest MMORPG to hit the market. WoW comes with a boatload of hype, mostly due to the incredibly successful Warcraft: Orcs vs. Humans RPG series. WoW, however, is an entirely different beast than the previous games (which didn't interest me in the least). WoW is a fully 3D world teaming with life and critters of all kinds. Since I enjoyed Star... Continue Reading

Six: The Mark Unleashed

Posted on September 15, 2004 1:27 AM

After the somewhat scathing replies I got regarding my review of the Christian film, Gone, I am somewhat reluctant to step up to the plate again. Regardless (or irregardless if you want to annoy people), I will now attempt to convey my thoughts on a film I viewed today. Six: The Mark Unleashed is a futuristic end-times thriller focusing on the coming one-world government and the ubiquitous "mark of the beast" which must be taken... Continue Reading

Everquest? Yawnquest...

Posted on June 30, 2004 9:31 PM

In my quest for the perfect online game, I have past by Everquest for several years now. However, I was reading a PC game magazine and saw that they were offering a 30-day free trial to the game. So I went to the site and downloaded an enormous 1.26 GB file. I installed it and signed up as Remotheus, a warrior of some sort or another, with devotion to some god of love. I figure... Hate Bush?

Posted on December 1, 2003 3:45 PM

Oh, this is rich! The very people who preach "tolerance" as a virtue... those bastions of all that is good who want to outlaw the beast known as "hate speech", are putting together an event that reveals their blatant hypocrisy for all to see. From the Drudge Report: HOLLYWOOD DEMS GATHER FOR 'HATE BUSH' MEETING AT HILTON Top Hollywood activists and intellectuals are planning to gather this week in Beverly Hills for an event billed... Mmoc Leoj

Posted on July 6, 2003 1:19 AM

Well, I have been playing Star Wars Galaxies for three days now. I can safely say that this stuff is digital crack. Highly addictive and just plain fun. See that strapping young lad above? Yup, that is my alter ego, Mmoc Leoj. Already sharp with a pistol and an up and coming rebel, I have ventured forth on many missions, encountering a good number of beasties and critters. I have met some very nice... Continue Reading
