A few years ago I heard people in the Internet marketing circles talking about "The Secret." I was told it was an amazing film featuring successful people demonstrating a "law of the universe" that had been hidden from the majority of mere mortals. Starring in this film based on a book by Rhonda Byrne were such people as Joe Vitale, James Arthur Ray, Michael Beckwith, David Schirmer and Bill Harris, among otthers. I decided to... You know, writing and launching a book is a lot like welcoming a new family member.
It takes time, planning and then there is the anticipation. Finally, the moment arrives.
Well, that moment is here...
Today is the official launch of my new book!
Over the years I've released a number of books.

What's the best way to significantly raise your credibility and become a recognized expert in your field? By having your traditionally published book. With changes in the book industry, you no longer need to subject yourself to rejection or insulting royalties from the big publishing houses. In this episode of The Joel Comm Show, I speak with David Hancock of Morgan James Publishing. As publisher of the New York Times best-seller, The AdSense Code, David... Continue Reading

So much of building an Internet business is simple. You don't need to know HTML any more. You don't need to mess around with ftp uploaders or hire designers. These days you can buy a ready-made template, plug in the ad systems and just paste in the content you need.
And that's where things start to get tricky. Continue Reading

People are so predictable. A new trend surfaces and there are those that immediately begin to capitalize on it. Being on the lookout for "the next big thing" is fine. But what do you do when you discover it? For some people, they engross themselves in the new thing and learn the ins and outs so they can speak from experience. For others, it's all a matter of discovering how they can position themselves as... Continue Reading

Interviewing prospective web designers is often a difficult task. Some candidates might be design rock stars but unable to develop the essential business features for your site, while other applicants will have portfolios filled with high-ranking sites that look like ghosts from the late 90s. I've spent some time in the Internet marketing space for just about five years now. Over that period of time, I've seen dozens of people who call themselves Internet marketers. I've also seen hundreds of products. Software, ebooks, courses, you name it... I've seen it all. Some people in Interent marketing are worth listening to because they are bringing value to the table. They are entrepreneurs with real solutions who are able to sell their... Continue Reading

I've had the privilege of authoring three books which have done quite well in the marketplace. The first one, The AdSense Code, came out in 2006 and went on to hit the New York Times Best Seller list for two months in a row. The book still sells quite well as an introduction to making money with Google AdSense. The updated second edition is due out in early 2010. Click Here to Order was released... Continue Reading

I have no idea what I'm doing.
I know, I'm supposed to be the expert, right? I'm the guy who wrote a best-selling book on earning money with AdSense, and another top-seller on Twitter. I've built a gaming site that was sold to Yahoo! and put together content sites that each deliver five-figure incomes in advertising revenue.
If I don't know what I'm doing, who does?

Last week the FTC dropped a bomb on the marketing world. They released new guidelines for the use of testimonials and endorsements in marketing. I immediately contacted my attorney, Kevin Houchin, to get his take on the latest guidelines. With Kevin's permission, I am republishing the entire text of his interpretation. It is essential that all marketers, online and offline, pay attention to this content. And understand that if you have ANY questions, you should... Continue Reading

I've had a ton of different business ideas. At the time I dreamt them up, they all looked like winners.
It didn't always pan out that way. There have been a number of business ventures that I've started only to see them fizzle and die.
It's just a part of business. No one ever goes through life without making a mistake. Continue Reading

It's all your fault.
I'm not going to beat about the bush. Nor am I going to try to save your feelings. I'm going to be brutally honest because I think direct is always the best way to go - and because you can handle it.
It's all because of you.

I like to think I've come a long way since I first started turning The Dallas/Fort Worth Software Review into WorldVillage.com. I now have a string of profitable websites. I speak regularly at conferences across the country. I've produced a top-selling iPhone app. And I've written a bunch of books, including a New York Times bestseller. But I know I didn't do any of this alone. Not only did I always have the support of... Continue Reading
