Print- The Medium that Will Never Die

Posted on September 15, 2010 10:54 AM

(Written by guest contributor Tanner Bennett) Printing used to be the cool kid in school. Then one day a new kid showed up. He brought with him Facebook, Twitter, blogs and lots of other new tools for communication. Print was suddenly so last week. Continue Reading

Loveland, Colorado Brush Fire

Posted on September 13, 2010 11:28 AM

It's been terribly dry in Northern Colorado. I can't remember the last time we had a substantial rain. Last week, the big news was the fire in Boulder County that claimed over 600 acres of land and at least 92 homes (nine of them belonging to firefighters.) Fortunately, no one was injured. As we were leaving church Sunday morning, it was impossible to miss smoke rising due west of our town, Loveland. It did not... Continue Reading

Staying Current with Web Development

Posted on April 29, 2010 1:26 PM

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) It's no secret that technology changes faster than most people are comfortable with. In an adoption of Moore's Law, Gerry Butters (former head of Lucent's Optical Networking Group) claims that the amount of data coming out of an optic fiber is doubling every nine months. Since the Internet is held together with these fiber "tubes," it means that new people and resources are coming online at an alarming rate... Continue Reading

Desperately Seeking Pizza in Northern Colorado

Posted on January 16, 2008 9:20 PM

I love living in Colorado. Ever since I moved my family here in February of 2007, I really can't imagine living anywhere else. I love the mountains. I love the change of seasons. I love zero humidity. And I've met some really great people here. But there's one thing that is still lacking... Continue Reading

Overheard in Arkansas

Posted on October 24, 2004 7:12 PM

Me and my family spent the last four nights in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, one of our favorite places to visit in the fall. The Ozarks rise to almost 2000 feet and are a touch of natural beauty only a few hours away from the plains of Central Oklahoma. Eureka Springs is particularly beautiful because it is a small town (population 2900) nestled in the mountains. Many of the streets are reminiscent of San Francisco, with... Continue Reading

Beaver Creek, CO

Posted on July 13, 2004 1:01 AM

(This entry is somewhat unique in that I am composing it entirely on my T-Mobile Sidekick. I wrote about this device a few weeks back and have been very pleased with it so far. You can search my blog to find out more.) We left Boulder at 11 am and set course for Beaver Creek, a ski resort nestled a couple hour's drive into the Rockies. Once you hit I-70 going west into the mountains... Continue Reading

Boulder - Days 2 and 3

Posted on July 12, 2004 11:01 PM

One of the reasons we wanted to get out of Oklahoma and visit Colorado was because of the intolerable heat. Ninety degree days just don't agree with us. Wouldn't you know it... Boulder is having a heatwave! According to the temperature gauge in the minivan, it got up to 98 degrees today! Needless to say, we didn't feel much like hiking of being outside. However, since it is so beautiful here, it is hard to... Continue Reading

Colorado Vacation 2004

Posted on July 10, 2004 11:41 PM

It seems like forever since we last had a family vacation. You might remember our last trip was a doozy. Since that time, I have traveled to Boulder, Colorado and Reno, Nevada on business. But this is the first chance we have gotten to pack up the minivan and hit the road! We left town around 10 am this morning and pulled into Louisville, Colorado (just outside Boulder) around 7:30 pm MST. It was an... Continue Reading

Where's the Mayor?

Posted on December 8, 2003 6:42 PM

Things have been hectic lately. Lots of traveling. One month on the road with family. One week in Chicago with family over Thanksgiving. Three nights in Boulder, Colorado for an Internet conference. And now its time for the Christmas rush. Jenna's birthday is next week. Gotta buy gifts. Gotta work. Gotta remember to stop and smell the roses. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Deep cleansing breaths. Inhale. Exhale. There, don't you feel better? #13 in my Best... Continue Reading

Boulder, Colorado

Posted on December 2, 2003 4:20 PM

Yes, I just got back from Chicago. No sooner than I drove home for the airport and dropped my family off at home did I get back in the car and drive BACK to the airport. Destination? Boulder, Colorado. Reason? I'd tell you, but it is highly classified. Actually, I am at a "meeting of the minds" with a roomful of Internet entrepreneurs. Boulder is beautiful and the weather is great. Wish you were here. Continue Reading
