It seems like an eternity ago that MySpace first hit the web. But it was 2003 when the site launched and 2006 when it became the most popular social networking site on the web. Things have dramatically changed in a short period of time. Facebook overtook MySpace as the leader just a brief two years later. Which leaves me asking the questions Why would anyone continue to use MySpace? Who ARE these people? Regardless, social... Continue Reading

Wow, that is one great looking web site.
You must have spent a lot of time and energy creating that content.
And your product... I can't imagine why people wouldn't want to buy it!
You even selected a great domain name that has your keyword in it.
So how are you doing with it?
What?
You don't have any traffic? Continue Reading

Many people discover me for the first time through any number of products or services. For some it is my iPhone applications. For others it is my book on making money with Google, The AdSense Code. Then there are those who know me from my sites that focus on affiliate marketing. Still others first found me through my social media presence or books (eg: Twitter Power). Whenever I speak from the stage, people are always... Continue Reading

I can't believe it has been over five years since the release of my first ebook on how to make money with Google AdSense. Originally titled "What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense", the ebook came out in January 2005 with just 66 pages. Today it is in its fourth edition and comes in at over 230 pages. I still bring in around $500/day with AdSense. But Google is just ONE way... Continue Reading

Social media has changed everything. When the Web first took off, it wasn't clear how anyone could make money by putting words on a Web page. Then Google brought out AdSense, competitors rushed in with their own programs and people who produced good content, paid attention to their ads and worked hard and patiently at building their sites got to see their incomes take off. But it was all pretty impersonal. Early websites provided information... Continue Reading

I'm going to try something new. Typically, I write articles designed to inspire or educate. Occasionally I'll discuss a product or service I think you'll find valuable. And from time to time I share a little bit of my own life with you. I have an idea for a weekly "roundup" of sorts that I'll use to discuss things that are happening with me, my business, in the industry or whatever else crosses my mind... Continue Reading

I meet two kinds of entrepreneurs at conferences. The first are the people hoping to get rich quick. They listen to the speakers and they make notes but what they're really hoping is that someone will let slip a giant secret that will enable them to make a huge sack of cash. Their aim is to retire within a year and spend the rest of their life on the beach. Those are the people who... Continue Reading

What is the most frequently asked question that I receive, so often that I can expect to hear it daily from one source or another? "How do I make money online?" I get asked via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google Buzz. I get asked via forms on my web sites. I get asked on my blog. Clearly, this is a question people want answered. But they don't want the same old answers. They don't... Continue Reading

The world is changing.
But you don't need me to tell you that.
The Internet of today is a far cry from the one I launched my first site on fifteen years ago.
Technology has made major advances, meeting needs of many, and exposing other needs yet to be met.
Just in the past few years, the way we market products and services online has changed. Continue Reading

I've been creating content-based websites since 1995. My first site, WorldVillage.com, was one of the first 25,000 sites on the web. My team is currently working on a fresh design that should be ready to launch early March. My bargain-hunting site, DealofDay.com, has been around since 1999. One of the first coupon code sites on the web, it has recently gone through a redesign and continues to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each month... Continue Reading

Though some people have labeled me as a visionary, I am incapable of predicting the future.
And while I happen to latch on to hot trends before the curve, it doesn't mean I have a working crystal ball.
Let's face it. I have no idea what is going to happen next.
So how exactly do you know what your customer wants?
There is a way. And it's actually not complex. It's not rocket science. Continue Reading

A lot of people were surprised when I brought out iFart. Until then, I was best known as an AdSense expert. I'd written a book that explained how to make money out of content by putting Google's ads next to them. It was serious stuff with serious results, but it took serious effort to make it work.
So I follow that up with... an electronic whoopee cushion?

Whenever I teach people about making money with AdSense, I make sure to let them know how easy it is to get started. Once they understand that their original content can translate to a revenue stream, they usually want to know what to do. For someone who has never blogged before, I recommend they set up a Blogger account. Not only is it easy to use, but it is also free. And since Google owns... Continue Reading

The iPhone and the iTunes AppStore have become a staple of our culture and our daily lives in a very short time. Over fifty million iPhone and iPod Touch units have been sold and users have downloaded billions of apps from the AppStore. Do you remember when the World Wide Web was new? I do. In 1995 my site was one of only 25,000 websites in the entire world. Today there are billions of web... Continue Reading
