Posted on August 19, 2010 2:30 PM

There are a lot of different ways to market a product, but they're all trying to do the same thing. From a free listing on Craigslist to a thirty-second slot during the Superbowl, all marketing is trying to build a relationship with its audience. Continue Reading

Find the Perfect Spokesperson

Posted on May 24, 2010 1:22 PM

I can think of at least two regional companies here in Colorado that fall into that category for me. In both cases, the "actor" has a close tie to the company being advertised. For one it's the owner, and for the other one it's the owner's kid that serves as their... Continue Reading

Fear of falling... or failing?

Posted on January 7, 2008 12:18 AM

I've been paying close attention to customer service wherever I go these days. In my business, I tell my support team to go the extra mile when assisting customers. I believe this pays off big time in the long run. But I am amazed at how many businesses do not pay attention to the simplest of customer service details. In the past few days, I have made observations at Best Buy, Gamestop, Qdoba and... my... Continue Reading

The Secret Seminar

Posted on January 29, 2006 8:14 AM

I am at an undisclosed location with an undisclosed group of people conducting classified business. It's the "secret seminar." I could tell you more, but you you would have to eat this blog entry afterwards. And I'd really like to see you try to get your mouth around your computer monitor... especially those of you with widescreen monitors. That would be funny. Continue Reading

Charlotte, North Carolina

Posted on November 19, 2005 2:36 PM

I'm in Charlotte, North Carolina. Of course, all hotels are beginning to look the same to me. Though were it not for the fact that I looked out the window of the airplane and took in a spectacular view of the Smoky Mountains, I wouldn't know the difference. Continue Reading

Big Seminar Afterglow

Posted on November 8, 2005 3:01 PM

I just got back from one of the the most educational and inspiring seminars of my entire life. My friend, Jeff Walker, suggested that I go to Armand Morin's Big Seminar in Los Angeles. On his advice, I registered just a couple weeks ago. It cost $2000, but I trust Jeff and took his advice. Words cannot describe the weekend I just experienced. Continue Reading

The Incredibles is, er.. are.. hmmm

Posted on November 7, 2004 11:54 AM

The Incredibles is Disney/Pixars' latest cash cow. Can these people do no wrong? Pixar has animated toys, bugs, monsters and fish. But one realm they had not covered to date was people. The wait is over. I took the kids to see The Incredibles yesterday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The Incredibles is a story of super heroes who have been exiled by the government and the people, due to ever-increasing litigation incurred as... Continue Reading
