"To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1 Nothing lasts forever. Change is inevitable. Over the past fifteen or so years I have created dozens of websites, products, services and applications that run the gamut of new media. Content sites, information products, member sites, web-based software, iPhone applications, mobile marketing platforms, entertainment sites and more. During that time I have had some tremendous successes and some... Continue Reading

Google does a great job. It's managed to create an advertising system that allows anyone to make money from their website. It's created opportunity, and given it to anyone with patience, a willingness to learn, and entrepreneurial drive. Continue Reading

I've been at Project Fit for about a month now. My goal has been to prove you don't need to go to extremes in order to lose weight and become healthier. There's nothing wrong with extreme exercising as it really can't do you harm. But there is a problem with extreme dieting. I don't want to be extreme in any way. After reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, I wanted to put his theories... Continue Reading

Earlier this year I received a Facebook message from a person representing a well-known author and speaker who has done quite well in the infomercial space. I was told their group was interested in meeting with me to explore the possibility of creating an infomercial that would feature me and teach people about the opportunity for making money on the Internet. Now I have received calls similar to this many times before. Usually it turns... Continue Reading

If there are only twenty-four hours in a day and 365 days in a year, why does it FEEL like time is moving faster and faster? One reason is that development of new technologies is accelerating like never before. Continue Reading

Live video broadcasts using Ustream and podcasts each have their pros and cons. I've had some experience with both, and I want to share with you what I see as the plusses and minuses of each. In the end, you can decide which method might be best suited for your needs. Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) It's no secret that technology changes faster than most people are comfortable with. In an adoption of Moore's Law, Gerry Butters (former head of Lucent's Optical Networking Group) claims that the amount of data coming out of an optic fiber is doubling every nine months. Since the Internet is held together with these fiber "tubes," it means that new people and resources are coming online at an alarming rate... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Joel Ownby) Advertisers and business owners are starting to understand the value in direct response mobile marketing because the response rates are too high to ignore. TextCastLive is a new service that has taken the rules taught to us by direct marketing mediums like e-mail autoresponder systems and direct mail and applied them to SMS text message marketing to provide a robust, platform-independent, scalable, enterprise-class mobile marketing solution. At the highest... Continue Reading

The world is changing.
But you don't need me to tell you that.
The Internet of today is a far cry from the one I launched my first site on fifteen years ago.
Technology has made major advances, meeting needs of many, and exposing other needs yet to be met.
Just in the past few years, the way we market products and services online has changed. Continue Reading

Get your idea noticed by using this clean design principle. Advances in media have created the most ad-resistant breed of consumer to date. Recent studies have found that consumers are, on average, exposed to 3,000 commercial messages per day in one form or another, from the boring copy-laden radio commercials to the flashing skyscraper ads on my favorite websites, from the cluttered newspaper coupons to illegible billboards on the side of the bus and... By now, you know that I am the creator of the world's most-talked about iPhone application, iFart Mobile. Although most people know me these days as the best selling author of "Twitter Power - How To Dominate Your Market One Tweet At A Time" and a successful internet entrepreneur, my staff and I eagerly jumped into iPhone development as soon as the app store launched. If you have been following me on Twitter, you are... Continue Reading

I've had several people ask me what I'm going to be up to in 2008. I'm very excited, because this is going to be a breakthrough year for many people who will increase their online revenue. AND, I am excited because I am going to be doing several things that have never been done before! That's kind of a mantra with me. I don't like to do what everyone else is doing. You have to... Darren Rowse has an interesting post over on ProBlogger.net. He explains the most common reasons that users unsubscribe from blog RSS feeds.
Can you guess which reason came out on top?
Nope, it wasn't poor content. (That came in at numbers 6 and 7.)
It wasn't the advertising. (Only three people said that.)
And it wasn't too much selling. (That was number 14 on the list.)
It was too many posts. Continue Reading
