Where You Can Find Me

Posted on August 20, 2011 1:51 PM

How is it possible to be in one place and everywhere at the same time? For us mere mortals, it's not. However, with social media all of us are more connected than ever before. I frequently get questions from people wanting to know how they can connect with me. I thought it would be useful for me to provide a list of where you can find me. I invite you to connect and interact with... Continue Reading

A Visit to the Tattoo Parlor

Posted on November 26, 2010 2:21 AM

Once upon a time I said that I would never get a tattoo on my body. I didn't object to others getting one. They just weren't for me. Besides I'm allergic to pain. I break out in screaming. That's why no one was more surprised than I when the idea came to me just a little over a month ago. I was making my "bucket list" and the idea of having a tattoo suddenly seemed... Continue Reading

Share the Love

Posted on October 21, 2010 5:56 AM

I recently enjoyed a meal with my daughter at Hu Hot Mongolian Grill in Fort Collins. It's our favorite place to enjoy build-your-own stir fry. Very tasty. As we were leaving the table, I heard my name called out. "Joel"... I turned around to a gentlemen looking at me. I didn't recognize him so I am scanning the recesses of my brain very rapidly to try to recall where I know him from. As it... Continue Reading

Vibram Five Finger Shoes - How to Have Wookie Feet

Posted on August 20, 2010 9:19 AM

It was a year ago that we were in Estes Park, Colorado with some friends when my son told me he wanted a pair of Vibram Five Finger Shoes. Being completely out of touch, I was thinking "You want vibrating shoes?" "Dad", he said. "They are Vibram Five Finger shows" So I took him to the store and he showed me the shoes. I had seen toe socks before because my teenage daughter would wear... Continue Reading

What's Your Social Media Policy?

Posted on May 5, 2010 2:52 PM

(Written by guest contributor David Nour) In my last several prospective client meetings, a consistent conversation has centered on the need for a social media policy. Whether you work for a progressive organization or a conservative, risk-adverse one, it seems that everyone has an opinion on the best approach. Here are some prevailing camps: Continue Reading

What's Up - March 4, 2010

Posted on March 4, 2010 7:48 AM

I'm going to try something new. Typically, I write articles designed to inspire or educate. Occasionally I'll discuss a product or service I think you'll find valuable. And from time to time I share a little bit of my own life with you. I have an idea for a weekly "roundup" of sorts that I'll use to discuss things that are happening with me, my business, in the industry or whatever else crosses my mind... Continue Reading

Pants on the Ground

Posted on January 14, 2010 11:17 AM

I've not been a fan of American Idol, but since my wife and daughter watch it I am considering enjoying this season. They are currently in the audition episodes in which anyone can demonstrate just how untalented they are. Well, here's a guy that is already making a buzz and looks to be a YouTube sensation. His name is Larry Platt and he is a 62-year old retired General from Georgia. The name of the... Continue Reading

My Custom Button App

Posted on January 14, 2010 5:48 AM

After the success of iFart, I remember asking my teenagers what kind of apps they would like to own. My daughter has several "button" apps on her device. The Hallelujah Button. The Woo Button. The Easy Button. Yes, those do exactly what you think they do. Continue Reading

The Heart Kids Tweet-a-thon

Posted on September 4, 2008 10:06 AM

There's nothing better than welcoming a new child into the world and your family. Being a father of two, I can tell you that the health and welfare of your children is the utmost priority. We had a bit of a scare when our daughter was born and spent the first few days of her life wondering when she would be able to come home from the hospital. It all turned out well, but some... Colorado Tornado Comes Near My Offices

Posted on May 23, 2008 12:37 PM

Around noon on May 22, 2008, I was at Denver International Airport waiting for a plane to Dallas. My phone rang and it was my daughter calling from her school to tell me that Loveland and northern Colorado was under a tornado warning. Apparantly a tornado had been spotted and they had the students go to the safest place in the building. A tornado? On the front range? I spent 21 years of my life... Continue Reading

Blog and the world blogs with you

Posted on January 17, 2008 12:48 AM

Blogging is a huge opportunity... and a lot of people are missing out. They're missing out for one reason. They don't believe they can write. They might have slept through their English classes at school. They don't know what a semi-colon is for. And since entering the workforce, they might never have had to write anything longer than a grocery list. And now I'm telling them that they can make their living -- and more... Continue Reading

Rolling with the Changes

Posted on February 16, 2007 8:45 PM

Change. It's the one constant we can depend on. Moving to Colorado has been a big change for me and my family. And it has not been without it's share of stress! The stress took a toll on me and I have felt physically depleted. In fact, I cancelled my appearances at JV Alert Live and StomperNet this weekend due to my physical condition. Whether its a virus or just pure exhaustion, I knew that... Continue Reading

Glenn Beck Live

Posted on July 16, 2006 10:56 AM

Last night, my family and I went to see Glenn Beck at the Mabee Center in Tulsa. For those not familiar with Beck, he claims to have the third most popular radio show in the country. I guess that would be behind Limbaugh and Hannity. I started listening to Glenn a few years ago when his program began airing on our local radio station. He says that you need to listen to the show for... Continue Reading

Arbonne Letters

Posted on June 15, 2006 9:21 PM

Who would have thought that my post about Arbonne would have generated so much discussion? Admittedly, it does get heated from time to time. But I have allowed the post to be a forum for free speech as long as people keep it clean and don't abuse each other. If you try to read it, expect to spend at least an hour... it just keeps going and going... A few months ago, I put up... Continue Reading
