Henderson Hills Baptist Church (HHBC) is located in Edmond, OK, just off I-35 at 15th street. This church, pastored by Dennis Newkirk, is a fast-growing contemporary church with a superb music program and good teaching. We've been attending this congregation since 2001. Continue Reading

Free XBox 360 Confirmed

Posted on February 26, 2006 10:23 AM

Yesterday I wrote about TextPayMe and their free service that allows you to send and receive funds from any cellphone. It's like PayPal, only more 21st century. I also mentioned that they have a cool referral program. Simply get 36 other people to sign up with their service and they will give you a FREE XBox 306. The people who sign up get paid $5 just for signing up as well. This morning I received... Continue Reading

And My Cholesterol Level Is...

Posted on February 24, 2006 11:33 AM

Three months ago, I told you that my cholesterol levels were high. My LDL (bad cholesterol) was approximately 138. My total cholesterol was 214. My primary care physician immediately wanted to place me on Lipitor. I told him that I was not eager to get on this medication as I heard it had some long-term side effects. I also do not like the idea of becoming dependent on the chemical compound du jour. So I... Continue Reading

Eat like a king for $6.00!

Posted on August 18, 2004 11:23 PM

">Ok, this doesn't really fit in the "free stuff" category, but it is ALMOST free. ">Restaurant.com offers discount gift certificates to restaurants around the country. You can buy $25 gift certificates for as little as $10. But if you have the secret code (which I happen to know), you can save an additional 40% on your certificate! I have already tried this, ordering a $25 gift certificate for Coach's Restaurant in Edmond. It cost... Continue Reading

I always feel like somebody's watching me

Posted on May 22, 2004 12:05 AM

Satellites are roaming the atmosphere, seeking out interesting sites. Actually, Microsoft's Terraserver contains 3.3 tera-bytes of high resolution USGS aerial imagery and USGS topographic maps. Basically, you can get an up close and personal aerial view of just about anywhere in the United States. Here is our home town of Edmond, OK. Zooming in reveals our house. It is the house on the bottom with the white car in the driveway. It's a great deal... Continue Reading

Links for the Weekend

Posted on December 12, 2003 12:58 AM

Here are some links to start your weekend off right... Relevant Magazine Online - Finally, a Christian magazine that "gets it". God is not stuck in time, and neither should we be. Learning how to relate God's truths to our culture requires being a participant in the culture, but yet not OF it. Great publication both on the web and in print. Where's George? - Play with your money. It's ok. George won't mind. High... Continue Reading

Steve Tyrell - LIVE!

Posted on November 23, 2003 3:37 PM

Mary and I had the opportunity to escape for a rare "date night" last night, and what a great night it was! We started the evening with dinner at Cascata Ristorante, a fine Italian dining establishment in Edmond. The atmosphere was charming and it was a pleasure to be waited on by a very professional wait staff. It all looked quite good so we decided to order two plates and share them. We ordered the... We departed from Conway, Arkansas around 10 am. About five hours later we pulled up to our home. The month flew by. It seems like yesterday I turned to Mary and said, "Are we really going to do this?" Now, it is over. We high-fived and I said, "We did it!" 2 kids 1 dog 31 days 1 packed minivan 1 flat tire 4720 miles 15 tanks of gas 103 hours of driving 16 hotels... Continue Reading

Day 30: On the Road Again

Posted on November 3, 2003 7:35 PM

As we enter the final legs of our journey, we have plenty of ground left to cover. We left Durham, North Carolina this morning and spent the better part of the day in the car. We did stop along the way for some antiquing, but it was brief. The drive has been beautiful though. We have been passing through the Appalachian mountain range and enjoying a variety of fall colors. We finally stopped in Knoxville... Continue Reading

Day 18: At Home with the Picones

Posted on October 22, 2003 9:57 PM

We did not want to go through the trial of commuting into NYC again today, so we took it nice and easy. We opted for a leisurely lunch at the food court at the mall, the kids did their schoolwork and I had a little playtime on the computer. I haven't said much about Socrates in my blog, but he is having a great time "running with the pack". He's a good dog, except when... Continue Reading
