How to Decide What to Write About

Posted on November 1, 2010 3:15 AM

I'm trying to blog regularly for a number of reasons. First, it keeps me sharp. Blogging on a regular basis makes me think about things that are important to me. Second, it allows me to share with others. Whether or not you agree with what I say, think, feel or believe, my articles are an extension of my self. Third, it keeps my blog healthy with the search engines. Google and the other engines like... Continue Reading

Your Problem is Marketing

Posted on October 18, 2010 8:23 AM

Recently I went to one of my favorite restaurants for a quick lunch. I called in an order of Chicken Tortilla soup to-go and went to pick it up. While I was there I observed that the restaurant was not busy. It SHOULD have been busy, being lunchtime. But it wasn't. It was then I asked to see if the owner was there. I wanted to speak with him for his benefit. He came out... Continue Reading

Why I Won't Be Starring in an Infomercial

Posted on September 1, 2010 7:02 AM

Earlier this year I received a Facebook message from a person representing a well-known author and speaker who has done quite well in the infomercial space. I was told their group was interested in meeting with me to explore the possibility of creating an infomercial that would feature me and teach people about the opportunity for making money on the Internet. Now I have received calls similar to this many times before. Usually it turns... Continue Reading

Posted on August 26, 2010 10:33 AM

I received an email solicitation today to take part in an alleged competition that is due to take place starting in October. It's called (brace yourself...) "The Internet Marketing World Cup" (goooooooooalllll!) It is likely you will be hearing more about this in the future so I thought it would be interesting to dissect it and share some thoughts. Information, Please

Posted on July 29, 2010 12:33 PM

If I were to ask for a show of hands on how people have used the Internet in the past seven days, it would reveal some very interesting data. A small percentage of people would say they participated in some form of online entertainment. A greater number would confirm they had interacted on a chat room or message board. Still more would raise their hands when asked if they did any online shopping. Continue Reading

Share Your Knowledge

Posted on May 17, 2010 1:00 PM

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) Confession: I'm a lazy person. I have to continuously work on making myself active and staying productive. I've gotten quite good at that over the years, but there are still areas that I recognize that I need to improve on. One of those areas is the passing on of my knowledge to help others. My boss Joel Comm has been able to master this. He sells books full of... Continue Reading

Posted on May 10, 2010 1:06 PM

If you feel you have a solid idea of what you or your product wants to become, it is time to learn how to best present it. While it's true you may have a great product, every product has its weaknesses. The good news is... Continue Reading

Make Money Blogging

Posted on March 25, 2010 11:34 AM

I've been blogging since 2003. I started JoelComm.com as a personal site where I could write articles about whatever I wanted. I wrote about my family, my travels, my dog, movie reviews, computer games and whatever else crossed my mind. But as I began taking my blog more seriously, I began creating more original content that brought value to others. My expertise in online business, site monetization, iPhone applications and other areas proved valuable for... Continue Reading

Posted on March 11, 2010 2:43 PM

(Written by guest contributor Sarah Jane Griesemer) These days, there is a long list of ways to avoid having to talk to someone in person: email, Facebook, Twitter, chat, blogs, and text messages are just a few. With all these alternative methods of communication, why bother with real-life meetings at all? The answer is that face-to-face meetings and interviews are still the single best way to get to know someone reliably, quickly, and in such... Continue Reading

Joel Comm Workshop

Posted on January 15, 2010 9:43 AM

These are challenging times. There's no question about it. And it is during challenging times that we find out what we are made of. I've discovered there to be two types of people. The first type goes along with the current and feels unable to orchestrate a change. They don't believe their choices can make a difference. Essentially, they feel helpless to achieve their goals and dreams. When you hoping to build an online business... Continue Reading
