George Clooney Lifts iFart Sales

Posted on November 20, 2011 3:56 PM

It's been almost THREE years since iFart stunk up the iTunes Appstore. On December 12, 2008, iFart exploded on the scene and the world has not been the same. I was perhaps the first app creator to go public with statistics related to sales and rank shortly after the app came out. iFart has now become a part of pop culture and iPhone history, even worthy of it's own Wikipedia page. Celebrities such as Helena... Continue Reading

Content Really is KaChing!

Posted on May 17, 2011 12:00 PM

As you know, I've been building websites since 1995. I've always been a big fan of creating content-rich sites that bring value to others. That's why I have always spoken against creating spammy sites designed to game the search engines. It's not a good model for building a long-term business. I've sold a number of my sites over the years. In 1998, Yahoo! purchased my multiplayer game site, ClassicGames.com. Today you know it as Yahoo... Continue Reading

The First Months Are Hard

Posted on January 19, 2011 4:41 PM

I receive a lot of feedback from people who have read my books and used my information products. Much of that feedback is positive. There's nothing better than reading an email from someone who's doubled their AdSense income after reading my book or picked up more clients after using Twitter. It lets me feel like I'm really making a difference. Continue Reading

AdSense Secrets v5.0 is coming soon

Posted on January 11, 2011 9:09 AM

It's been almost THREE YEARS since I came out with the last edition of AdSense Secrets. V4.0 was released in April of 2008. Since the material in this book has become very dated, I have been giving it away for free for a time. Much has changed with the Google AdSense program, and much has changed in the online world. So I've been hard at work at a completely revised, updated and expanded 2011 edition... Continue Reading

What This Blog is About

Posted on October 12, 2010 10:00 AM

If you have been following this blog for any time, you probably know that it is not like other blogs. I don't have a template or formula for this blog. It is mine and I use it however I want. When I started blogging in 2003, my first entries were about my dog, my family and my travels. I blogged about my political views, current events and films I had recently seen. Then it happened... The Law of Attraction is Nonsense

Posted on October 7, 2010 3:27 AM

A few years ago I heard people in the Internet marketing circles talking about "The Secret." I was told it was an amazing film featuring successful people demonstrating a "law of the universe" that had been hidden from the majority of mere mortals. Starring in this film based on a book by Rhonda Byrne were such people as Joe Vitale, James Arthur Ray, Michael Beckwith, David Schirmer and Bill Harris, among otthers. I decided to... Upsell Insanity

Posted on September 24, 2010 2:05 AM

It's not uncommon for marketers to use upsells and downsells in order to gain a new customer and make a sale. Downsells typically offer the same product or some derivative of that product at a discounted price. Upsells will usually come after a sale has been made, and offer extra goods or services for an additional fee. There's nothing wrong with upselling or downselling in theory. But I do believe there are cases where integrity... Continue Reading

The Internet Marketing World Cup - A Rebuttal

Posted on September 16, 2010 9:24 PM

The following email was sent to me by one of the creators of The Internet Marketing World Cup. I told them I would consider updating my previous blog entry based on what he shared with me. After further consideration, I thought I would just let IMWC's point-of-view speak for itself. With that said, here is the entire email sent to me. It is thoughtful and I admire the IMWC team for proactively contacting me and... Continue Reading

This Post is EXTREMELY Controversial

Posted on September 16, 2010 4:33 AM

Warning: What you are about to read is highly controversial. It is literally laced with controversy. Controversy is oozing out of its very pores. Unless you are prepared to be challenged to the core, you should probably stop reading now. Otherwise, I hope you are sitting down. Things are about to get interesting... Continue Reading

Would You Watch Me Lose 40 Pounds?

Posted on September 7, 2010 6:09 AM

I've got a confession to make. I am fat. That's not P-H-A-T as in "cool". That's F-A-T as in chunky, large, and overweight. On top of that, I am not physically fit. It's no surprise. As an online entrepreneur who spends a lot of time in front of a computer, I've become sedentary. It's a fairly common story. Once upon a time I was both slim AND physically fit. In fact, you might be surprised... Continue Reading

Why I Won't Be Starring in an Infomercial

Posted on September 1, 2010 7:02 AM

Earlier this year I received a Facebook message from a person representing a well-known author and speaker who has done quite well in the infomercial space. I was told their group was interested in meeting with me to explore the possibility of creating an infomercial that would feature me and teach people about the opportunity for making money on the Internet. Now I have received calls similar to this many times before. Usually it turns... Continue Reading

The Internet Marketing World Cup - What's the Score?

Posted on August 26, 2010 10:33 AM

I received an email solicitation today to take part in an alleged competition that is due to take place starting in October. It's called (brace yourself...) "The Internet Marketing World Cup" (goooooooooalllll!) It is likely you will be hearing more about this in the future so I thought it would be interesting to dissect it and share some thoughts. 25 Computer Games That Rocked My World

Posted on July 2, 2010 11:10 AM

I've been a computer gamer since the dawn of the home computer. I bought a TRS-80 Model I computer in 1980. At 16-years old, I gathered my hard-earned cash (from working at the mall food court) and spent it all on what was the bleeding edge of home computing technology. This computer had 4K of smokin' hot RAM. The storage device was a radio shack cassette tape player. Oh, yeah. We're talking hot stuff. Anyhow... Continue Reading

Fatally Flawed Videos

Posted on June 7, 2010 10:43 AM

(Written by guest contributor Chris Harper) Let's face it: it's not hard to find flaws in a lot of online videos. I'm not above reproach myself. I often look back on my work and question my tactics or execution. As online video producers, we generally don't have the same budget or tools at our disposal that feature-length filmmakers do. Having said that, there are some things that you just can't do if you want people... Continue Reading
