25 Computer Games That Rocked My World

Posted on July 2, 2010 11:10 AM

I've been a computer gamer since the dawn of the home computer. I bought a TRS-80 Model I computer in 1980. At 16-years old, I gathered my hard-earned cash (from working at the mall food court) and spent it all on what was the bleeding edge of home computing technology. This computer had 4K of smokin' hot RAM. The storage device was a radio shack cassette tape player. Oh, yeah. We're talking hot stuff. Anyhow... Continue Reading

Top Ten Christmas Favorites

Posted on December 25, 2009 12:39 AM

Christmas. Seems like we measure a good part of our year by the celebration of Christ's birth. I know. For many people Christmas is very much a secular holiday. A time for family and friends. A time for decorating and hanging pretty lights. A time for the wonder of Santa Claus and flying reindeer. And a time for gift-giving. And regardless of whether or not Target has the cajones to allow the nice Salvation Army... Continue Reading

Woman Stuck on Toilet for Two Years

Posted on March 14, 2008 12:59 AM

So I've got this great idea for a screenplay. The story goes like this... Due to severe beatings she had received as a child, a thirty-something year old woman develops a strange phobia and doesn't leave the bathroom for two years. I know, bizarre, yes? It gets more interesting. The woman spends the majority of her time on the toilet. Yes, on the toilet. In fact, she spends SO much time on the toilet that... Continue Reading

City of Heroes

Call me Mr. Wonderful. No, its not Mary's pet name for me. And no, I don't have a super-inflated sense of self. Mr. Wonderful has been my alter-ego these past two weeks in City of Heroes, a massively multiplayer online game recently released by Cryptic Studios. The fictional location of Paragon City has had a difficult time lately. What with an alien invasion and several gangs of thugs battling it out for control of the... Continue Reading

#15 - That Thing You Do

Posted on November 19, 2003 9:32 PM

We start my list of the Best Movies Ever (from my personal DVD collection) with an unlikely candidate. That Thing You Do (1996) makes the cut at #15 because, well, it just makes me feel good! Written and directed by Tom Hanks, That Thing You Do manages to take a trite, cliched storyline, add a perfect supporting cast and a hook that won't let go, and turn it into pure movie magic. The film tells... Continue Reading

Day 21: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

Posted on October 25, 2003 9:03 PM

Our time at the Conwell Inn has been great. The room is very nice and they have had some sort of breakfast downstairs every morning. When I took the dog out this morning, I was pleased to see a hot waffle iron and cups of batter. I surprised Mary and the kids with fresh waffles to get the day off on the right foot. Unfortunately, Mary hasn't felt good the past couple of days, so... Continue Reading

Journeys through the Galaxy

Posted on August 14, 2003 2:30 AM

Here are some photos taken along the way as Mmoc Leoj has pursued a life of fame and fortune in the Star Wars Galaxy. Banthas smell BAD! Corky wears his Tusken Raider mask with pride. It's ugly. Say Cheese, Corky! Goin' fishin. And I HATE fishing. Big fictional, pixelized creatures that want to hurt me must die! Continue Reading
