How is it possible to be in one place and everywhere at the same time? For us mere mortals, it's not. However, with social media all of us are more connected than ever before. I frequently get questions from people wanting to know how they can connect with me. I thought it would be useful for me to provide a list of where you can find me. I invite you to connect and interact with... Continue Reading

Facebook can be very frustrating. Early on, I accepted every friend request that came my way. I was being social, right? Shortly after hitting my 5000 friend limit, my account was suspended. After creating a bit of a hullaballoo (don't get to use that word very often), my account was re-activated. Then came pages. Now I had a place to send people who wanted to follow me. The numbers quickly grew. But my Facebook stream... Continue Reading

I don't have to tell you how important video is your to sales process. It's a well-established fact that video is one of the best ways to build relationship, enhance your brand, increase conversions and make more sales. I've been using video for a number of years and it has been a very effective tool to accomplish all of the above. From time to time, we have video talent scheduled to film various spots for... (Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) I'm going to get up on my soapbox for a little bit here. You see... I consider myself to be a good programmer. Now, I don't mean the BEST programmer, just a good one. I know there are so many things that I have yet to learn out there. In my days I've come across both good and bad programmers, and I could probably write a decent book on... Continue Reading

You are probably catching on to the fact that I am not promoting many products these days. That's because most products and services coming out are not worth promoting. When you see the proliferation of traffic products, social media products, list building products and all the other rehashed same-old, same-old coming out, I'm sure you'll agree that there aren't many original ideas out there right now. So when I DO have something to share with... Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) This article is for three primary audiences. It's for the business owner who does his own programming and development. It's for the business owner who has hired or contracted a developer to work for him. It's for the developer doing the work. I will be discussing the single piece of software that can increase your efficiency more than any other investment. Yes, it is an investment in your business... Continue Reading

I've been using email for a very long time. I think my first email address was an AOL.com address from version 1.0 of their software. Since that time I have had multiple email addresses. I no longer use the AOL.com address, but it is still active! I have two primary email accounts that I use today. One of them is my corporate account and the other is my personal account. Both addresses have become inundated... Continue Reading

WordPress and AdSense can be a little tricky, especially when you account for how much things can change with every new theme. We are going to show you a fool-proof way to get your AdSense code into your WordPress blog. (Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) Twitter grows more popular each and every day and more and more users are discovering it and putting it to use. Since the beginning, Twitter has struggled to meet this demand and it has been a big challenge for them to not only meet the current demand that their users have, but also to provide additional value to those users. One of the reasons that I have been reluctant... Continue Reading

What's the real secret to getting things done? While much of the answer lies in things like motivation and daily habits, you also can't ignore the value of the tools you use every day to do the work. We polled our staff to find out what's running on their machines here at the office and at home. What we found is that our office has some universal solutions, and then seemed to split departmentally. So... Continue Reading

There was once a man who built his house on sand and one who built his house on a rock. The winds came, the rain fell, and the streams rose. Once the storm was over, the house that was built upon the rock was left standing and the one that was built on sand was washed away. Continue Reading

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) A few months ago I got a new laptop. It had nothing but Windows 7 installed on it. The first thing you always have to do with a new computer is to install all the software that you need to be productive. An office suite is one of the key pieces of software that just about any business person needs. The ability to create word documents, presentations, access email... Continue Reading
