The year is 2010. More and more people are getting their news from the Internet. And many traditional media sources are greatly suffering as a result. It's no wonder. Fresh information is constantly at our fingertips. I am puzzled why anyone would watch television news or read newspapers any more. I NEVER watch television news. I NEVER buy a newspaper. But I happened to be in front of a television the other day while waiting... Continue Reading

Warning: What you are about to read is highly controversial.
It is literally laced with controversy.
Controversy is oozing out of its very pores.
Unless you are prepared to be challenged to the core, you should probably stop reading now.
Otherwise, I hope you are sitting down. Things are about to get interesting... Continue Reading

It's been terribly dry in Northern Colorado. I can't remember the last time we had a substantial rain. Last week, the big news was the fire in Boulder County that claimed over 600 acres of land and at least 92 homes (nine of them belonging to firefighters.) Fortunately, no one was injured. As we were leaving church Sunday morning, it was impossible to miss smoke rising due west of our town, Loveland. It did not... Continue Reading

Here's a campaign ad that goes directly to the heart of this election.
Who knows better how to spend YOUR money and run YOUR life?
You or Government?
We're at a crossroads.
I pray we make the right choice. Continue Reading

Here we are knee-deep in the political season.
Who will be the next President of the United States?
Regardless of the results, you can rest assured that the political discourse will not cease.
I used to spend a good deal of time discussing politics online.
But I had a hard time finding sites where people would not flame each other. Continue Reading

I know I am opening myself up to criticism for this post, but it's been on my mind and I really just want to put it out there.
I dislike the way multi-level marketing has been done by many companies.
I don't dislike multi-level marketers, mind you (well, most of them anyway). I just think that business model has proven destructive to many individuals and families. Continue Reading

Survivor.
The Apprentice.
American Idol.
We are drawn to reality television like a moth to the flame.
We watch... and we watch some more, intrigued by the characters, the challenges and the inevitable prizes.
Let's face it. Secretly, many of us wish that we could be a contestant on one of these shows.
Now imagine this... Continue Reading

I am writing this entry from Heathrow Airport in London. I've been here with my family since August 30th and we're ready to be back on American soil. As of now, our flight is delayed and I'm afraid we'll be sitting for a few more hours. I've been unplugged for all but one hour while on vacation (holiday, as they call it here). It has been refreshing to get away from the computer. But, like... Continue Reading

What do you want? This is the question that we must ask ourselves, digging deep into our souls to discover that which drives us onward. In The Journey of Desire, John Eldredge ignites that spark that may light the flame of desire within, moving aside all that we think we want in order to make room for the deeper desire that can bring us true fulfillment. Eldredge writes in down-to-earth terminology. He communicates eternal truths... Continue Reading

We had a casual morning, taking our time to get packed up and on our way. Packing is such a hassle and I do not look forward to "the big schlepp" each time we leave. I have streamlined the procedure a bit more with each stop, but we are also acquiring more souveniers along the way, so the van is getting more and more stuffed. We left our hotel around 12:30 pm and went to... Continue Reading
