Examine Your Site's Focus

Posted on May 25, 2010 1:40 PM

It's hard to adequately stress the importance of focus and purpose on your website. Since you are reading the Top One Report, we're going to assume that you have a website, or lots of websites, or are at the very least planning to have a website. We look at a lot of sites here at InfoMedia in our work with entrepreneurs like you. Many times we have opened a site from a customer or associate... Continue Reading

Chitika Gets Selective

Posted on April 16, 2010 11:12 AM

When Chitika brought out its Premium units in 2008, it did something unique. And a bit selfish. The company raised its conversion rate by filtering out those users who were least likely to buy. Continue Reading

A Wealth of Perspective

Posted on April 14, 2010 3:16 PM

(Written by guest contributor Loral Langemeier) In times of economic uncertainty, people tend to reexamine their relationship with money. Those who are avid wealth builders make necessary adjustments to maintain their lifestyle and stay above water. For those caught in a "make /spend" cycle, these can be very scary times indeed, splashing about without a life preserver. If you're making bad choices with money, now is the time to evaluate your situation. You and I... Continue Reading

Ebooks De-Mythed

Posted on March 17, 2010 3:28 PM

(Written by guest contributor Mark Widawer) With so many people getting into online marketing as a way to avoid having a J-O-B, they're wondering exactly what kind of online career they should get into. When they start thinking about ebooks, they often think that maybe it's too late to get into ebook marketing, or that there aren't any good topics left to write about, or that they're not smart enough or expert enough to write... Build Better, Faster & Stronger Connections in Person

Posted on March 11, 2010 2:43 PM

(Written by guest contributor Sarah Jane Griesemer) These days, there is a long list of ways to avoid having to talk to someone in person: email, Facebook, Twitter, chat, blogs, and text messages are just a few. With all these alternative methods of communication, why bother with real-life meetings at all? The answer is that face-to-face meetings and interviews are still the single best way to get to know someone reliably, quickly, and in such... Continue Reading

The Truth About Web Development Outsourcing

Posted on March 8, 2010 1:47 PM

(Written by guest contributor Tim Golen) Over and over again I hear people say, "Oh, you can just outsource that." They make it sound easy, like all you have to do is search Google for outsourced development, click on a button or two, and all your problems are solved. I'm here to tell you that it's not that easy, and in some cases, not even appropriate to outsource. I am going to talk about when... Continue Reading

Safeguard Your Ideas

Posted on December 18, 2009 1:00 PM

Let me get right to the point. The reason our economy is in the tank today is that too many people are focused on creating money instead of creating real products and services. To correct this problem, we need to get back to the basics of creating products and services that people need or want, and let the money come as a result. That's the business of creativity, and it's going to be the... Continue Reading

Keeping it Real

Posted on December 13, 2008 2:46 PM

I had the privilege of speaking to one thousand people at a seminar this weekend. One the things I hear from attendees again and again is how "real" I am on stage. I take that a compliment, because to be otherwise would be to act "phony." After considering these kinds of comments, I wonder how many people aren't "real" on stage or some other part of their lives. I think one reason that speakers/performers struggle... Continue Reading

Do You Wince When You Read Your Posts?

Posted on October 6, 2008 8:00 AM

I've written a lot of content since I became an online publisher. I'd like to think that I've got better and better as the years have gone by but sometimes I'm not so sure. Although there are plenty of posts that still make me proud when I read them again, there's also no shortage of articles that really make me wince. They might have sentences I want to rephrase, points that aren't made clearly, and... Continue Reading

iPhone Review

Posted on September 1, 2007 12:34 AM

I did it. I bit the bullet and picked up an iPhone. I've been a faithful Treo 650 user for two years, but the buzz regarding Apple's new device won me over. So I ponied up $599 + shipping and tax to get one of these puppies in my hands, though I was unsure of what I would find once I actually got to try it out for myself. I may now render the verdict... Outsourcing the web

Posted on September 6, 2004 11:06 PM

There has been a great deal of talk about outsourcing jobs to other countries recently. I never thought that I would have an interest in the topic, but I was wrong. I have been looking for a talented programmer and web designer to tackle some new Internet projects. I found a site called elance.com, a fairly comprehensive site for finding professionals to do just about any computer/internet related job. Logo design, web design, programming of... John Kerry: Tax Invaders Game

Posted on April 17, 2004 12:05 AM

The Republican National Committee launched a new web game today that illustrates the massive tax increases required to pay for John Kerry's promised spending. Earlier this week the RNC unveiled the Index De Le Miserables, which calculated Senator Kerry's promised spending, promised tax increases, and unidentified tax increases. Senator Kerry's IDM was 20.46 the same as Carters MI in 1980. "John Kerry has promised $1.9 trillion in new spending and thats just on the... Continue Reading
