I can't believe I have been doing business online since 1995. It seems like so long ago, and yet just yesterday. The first ten or so years were spent creating content-rich websites for the consumer marketplace. I built and sold several of these sites. It wasn't until 2005 that I entered the Internet marketing arena with my first ebook, "What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense." Over two dozen ebooks, several products... It was early September 2010. At over 225 pounds and sporting a size 40 waist, I decided it was time to make a change. After all, at 46-years old, I wasn't getting any younger. In order to hold myself accountable to my desire to get fit and lose weight, I went public with my goals. I wrote about the changes I would be making extensively on this blog. My first entry was posted 9/14/10. By... Continue Reading

According to an article in Mashable, iFart has been dubbed the #12 most popular iPhone app in a new infographic created by three companies specializing in iOS apps.
Game-maker Chillingo, app search engine Chomp and app blog 148apps, released this very interesting infographic to celebrate the milestone of Apple having 500,000 apps in their iTunes AppStore. A great feat, indeed! Continue Reading

How many times have you shopped at a store or eaten at a restaurant and been invited to take a customer service survey. Usually these survey opportunities are presented by the clerk or waiter who points out a web site at the bottom of your receipt. I have never paid attention to these in the past and often find them to be a nuisance. Sure, Target claims to give away $5000 gift cards. But who... Continue Reading

On September 1st, 2010, I weighed in at over 225 pounds. I didn't step on the scale often because it wasn't very good news. My energy levels were low. My blood pressure was high. And I was moody. I didn't want to feel that way anymore. I had lost weight in the past, but I wasn't sure I could do it again. After all, I DID balloon back to my previous weight AND put on... Continue Reading

One of the challenges some people face when first striking out on their own in the online business world is the problem of privacy. Especially for those born before, say, 1990, the prospect of putting your entire self online for all the world to see can seem daunting at best and unwise and dangerous at worst. Here are some things to think about to keep things in perspective and help ease you into the idea... Continue Reading

Yesterday I scared little children around the world with photos of me at 225 pounds. I did warn you beforehand, so please don't send me your psycho-analysis and therapy bills. For the past three months I have been on The Joel Comm Diet, which is not a diet at all. Instead it combines common sense with a plan that works for me. I am pleased to say that three months later I have lost 35... Continue Reading

You are probably catching on to the fact that I am not promoting many products these days. That's because most products and services coming out are not worth promoting. When you see the proliferation of traffic products, social media products, list building products and all the other rehashed same-old, same-old coming out, I'm sure you'll agree that there aren't many original ideas out there right now. So when I DO have something to share with... Continue Reading

Have you ever gotten your car stuck in a ditch? Your rear tires desperately try to find traction only to spin deeper and deeper into the mud. The more you step on the gas, the worse your situation becomes. And now you are spraying mud everywhere. It can even end up on other people and their vehicles. You can keep trying to get out of the ditch. Or you can realize that what you are... Continue Reading

If you look around at successful online businesses, you will see many things that they all have in common. Maybe they have a good design, have a well-written blog, convincing sales pages, or some combination of these and other characteristics. But many successful sites an businesses share another characteristic: they know and take advantage of the power of a unique business idea. Because let's face it, you can have all the other pieces in place... Continue Reading

Experts say that you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. I believe they are probably correct, but I have a really hard time adjusting my eating habits that much. I'm more likely to skip breakfast altogether, eat a decent lunch and pig out for dinner. I'm also likely to have a mid-afternoon snack to satisfy my sweet tooth. That has all changed. For the past six... Continue Reading

While the modern world we live in tends to be civilized, there are still peoples in third world nations that are not plugged in to our technology-laden society. As recent as fifty years ago, the Waodani people of the Ecuadorian Amazon basin lived very primitively. Cut off from the rest of the world, the tribe was in a constant war with other tribes. By seeking revenge after revenge, the number in the Waodani tribe was... Continue Reading
