It's been almost THREE years since iFart stunk up the iTunes Appstore. On December 12, 2008, iFart exploded on the scene and the world has not been the same. I was perhaps the first app creator to go public with statistics related to sales and rank shortly after the app came out. iFart has now become a part of pop culture and iPhone history, even worthy of it's own Wikipedia page. Celebrities such as Helena... Continue Reading

I have surveyed online business owners a number of times over the years. I have discovered a common thread in the problems that the majority of them are experiencing. 1) They are frustrated with the amount of traffic they get to their websites. Can you identify? 2) They are concerned that their online presence is not generating enough leads and new customers. Does that describe you? 3) They are upset with themselves (or vendors) for... It's been over two years since Apple approved iFart Mobile for sale in the iTunes appstore. During that time, iFart has become the defacto novelty app. Even after all this time, iFart finds its way into headlines again and again. I recently shared that I am changing my business model. In order to focus on my new efforts, I have decided it is time to sell some of my existing properties. I have already sold... Continue Reading

It's a new year and more than likely you have new ideas, goals, and plans for your life. And if you're reading this right now, you probably have more than a few goals for your online business. But where are they in terms of importance? Have you prioritized them to take precedence over your goal to lose weight or embark on international travel? Not to take anything away from your desire to be healthy or... Continue Reading

Last year my company released a revolutionary new platform for the iPhone. It was called GameDock, and it was the world's first multiplayer gaming platform for the iPhone and iPod Touch. While OpenFeint and Plus+ were creating leaderboards and achievement functionality, we had done what no other developer had done... created a matching system that would allow you to add friends and invite them to play our games in real time from anywhere in the... How do you feel about celebrities?
Are you in awe when you meet someone that is well-known?
Do you get nervous when speaking with them?
Do you attribute value to people based on their status?
How do you treat those that appear to have achieved the level of status, wealth, fame or power that you may aspire to? Continue Reading

I've got a confession to make. I am fat. That's not P-H-A-T as in "cool". That's F-A-T as in chunky, large, and overweight. On top of that, I am not physically fit. It's no surprise. As an online entrepreneur who spends a lot of time in front of a computer, I've become sedentary. It's a fairly common story. Once upon a time I was both slim AND physically fit. In fact, you might be surprised... Continue Reading

Last month, two of my team members had an opportunity to go to Monrovia, Liberia to work on a project intended to save lives of those in the malnourished and HIV-stricken country. Chris Harper, my Video Producer, and Sarah Jane Griesemer, VP of Project Management, accepted the call to go to Liberia and meet the needs of people through a project called The Peanut Butter House. What they experienced during their week-long trip was undoubtedly... Continue Reading

Things change fast in this business -- that's nothing new. Change can be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on how you deal with it within your organization. Maintaining flexibility is cliché (and usually overstated) and in my opinion rarely defined in a specific context. An expert in a particular area of focus laying out a roadmap for maintaining flexibility is incredibly valuable. A keynote speaker telling you he achieved success by... Continue Reading

I have to warn you now.
This entry is not going to be pretty.
But someone has got to say something.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Fine... sigh... I'll do it. Continue Reading

Apart from Twitter's own terms of service which prohibit obvious things like harassment, transmitting viruses and spamming other members, there really aren't many rules to the site. You can essentially use Twitter however you like. However, for people and businesses who want to use Twitter successfully (eg: build a following and grow their circle of influence), there are a number of best practices that can be observed. I cover many of these in my book... Continue Reading

I said I was going to go into silent mode regarding our sales, but so many people have asked me what happened through Christmas Day that I have decided to release stats just one more time.
We left off December 23rd with stats current from our release date on 12/12 through 12/22.
Everyone is curious about what happened next.
You may be shocked. I know I was when I saw the numbers. Continue Reading
