In the last year my company has had a lot of success with Clickbank, the world's most trusted digital marketplace. We currently have a half dozen products in the Clickbank marketplace and they generate a steady income for my company. One thing all those products have in common is that they were all setup, launched and managed by my VP of Ideas, Dan Nickerson. Dan has become an expert at the rapid development and launch... Recently I went to one of my favorite restaurants for a quick lunch. I called in an order of Chicken Tortilla soup to-go and went to pick it up. While I was there I observed that the restaurant was not busy. It SHOULD have been busy, being lunchtime. But it wasn't. It was then I asked to see if the owner was there. I wanted to speak with him for his benefit. He came out... Continue Reading

When the potential of Google AdSense became clear, it was a seminal moment. It was a revolution in entrepreneurial opportunity. You didn't need to be a programmer, a computer whiz or a venture capitalist to make money out of the Internet. All you needed to do was identify one thing that you knew a lot about, write about it, surround your content with ads and if you could bring in the traffic, you had a... Continue Reading

Lots of people who are just starting out with their online businesses are stymied by a question that is central to the endeavor: What should my online business be about? Since most people have money as one of their main motives, lots of people make the mistake of thinking solely along the lines of what they think will be most profitable. It's not that profitability is bad, of course, it's just that it may not... Continue Reading

I'm not a very good cook, so I tend to eat out a lot. I don't do a lot of fancy dining, but it's not unusual to find me and my family at a national chain or local diner. My experiences as a patron of restaurants has helped clarify what I believe makes a good waiter and what makes a bad waiter. Waiting tables is a difficult job. Hectic kitchens... unruly customers... angry cooks... wrong... Continue Reading

If I were to ask for a show of hands on how people have used the Internet in the past seven days, it would reveal some very interesting data. A small percentage of people would say they participated in some form of online entertainment. A greater number would confirm they had interacted on a chat room or message board. Still more would raise their hands when asked if they did any online shopping. Continue Reading

It can be helpful to take a look at some relatively simple sites that work because of a relevant idea coupled with great execution. (Written by guest contributor Fletcher Groeneman) Last time we discussed the first step in the process of branding, "know yourself." This time I would like to build on that foundation. If you feel you have a solid idea of what you or your product wants to become, it is time to learn how to best present it. While it's true you may have a great product, every product has its weaknesses. The good news is... Continue Reading

Since coming on board as President of InfoMedia, Inc. a few months ago, one of the first things I did was to create some work files for the various projects that began crossing my desk immediately. They were files with titles like, Staff Matters, Financial Matters, Legal Matters, etc. As I began to get to know the company more thoroughly, I realized how much organization matters. As a blogger, I frequently share my opinion on a number of topics. That sometimes includes current events or newsworthy items. However, I never put myself forth as a journalist. While I prefer to have my facts straight, I must confess that I don't always get it right. But I believe those who report news have a much bigger obligation to accurately report stories. Don't you agree? I can't tell you how many times I... Continue Reading

It's been said that the only difference between men and boys are the price of their toys. I don't know if that's still true, but I do know that I've always been into gadgets. Raised on video games (I remember when Space Invaders and PacMan showed up next to pinball machines), I've always had a thing for electronics. I owned the first cartridge-based video game system that didn't require overlays on your television screen. This... Continue Reading
