A Visit to the Tattoo Parlor

Posted on November 26, 2010 2:21 AM

Once upon a time I said that I would never get a tattoo on my body. I didn't object to others getting one. They just weren't for me. Besides I'm allergic to pain. I break out in screaming. That's why no one was more surprised than I when the idea came to me just a little over a month ago. I was making my "bucket list" and the idea of having a tattoo suddenly seemed... Continue Reading

The Art of Filming an Interview

Posted on February 19, 2010 10:28 AM

(Written by guest contributor Chris Harper) Previously I explained the basics of three-point lighting. Today, we're going to expand that concept into lighting for an interview. Essentially we'll be doing two instances of three-point lighting, but we'll add the dimension of multiple camera angles. Continue Reading

Behind the Scenes of The Daily Show

Posted on July 23, 2009 12:02 PM

By now, you know that I am the creator of the world's most-talked about iPhone application, iFart Mobile. Although most people know me these days as the best selling author of "Twitter Power - How To Dominate Your Market One Tweet At A Time" and a successful internet entrepreneur, my staff and I eagerly jumped into iPhone development as soon as the app store launched. If you have been following me on Twitter, you are... Continue Reading

How to Win Friends and Influence People

Posted on November 30, 2006 3:04 PM

If you read yesterday's entry, you'll see that we had a heck of a time getting home from Chicago to OKC. Our flight was cancelled and we ended up rescheduled for an 8:55pm departure. Of course, the flight didn't leave until closer to 9:30 pm. And then we sat parked outside the gate in OKC for 30 minutes waiting for the plane at the gate to leave. All told, it was twelve hours from door... Continue Reading

Cracker Barrel Junk

Posted on April 13, 2006 11:20 AM

I like the food at The Cracker Barrel. It's usually pretty good, whether we go there for breakfast or dinner. They have done a great job of positioning themselves as the "Old Country Store", a combination restaurant/retail shop, where every store is positioned on a major U.S. interstate. And every store looks virtually the same. Continue Reading

I've been in a Las Vegas this week, participating in Affiliate Summit, a conference for Internet merchants and their affiliates. I dragged a couple friends along with me and we're having a great time. Monday night we went to see Blue Man Group at the Luxor Hotel (the big pyramid...) What a fun evening! Continue Reading

Madagascar

Posted on May 28, 2005 10:49 PM

Silly fun. That's my two word review of the new animated film from Dreamworks Entertainment, Madagascar. A light-hearted story about some Central Park Zoo animals that wind up in the title country, Madagascar is an enjoyable way to waste 90 minutes, especially if you are in a theater of kids who make laughing at the silly gags even more enjoyable. As a children's movie, Madagascar succeeds with it's colorful animations and goofy characters. Dreamworks tossed... Continue Reading

Bulbous Bouffant

Galoshes. Mukluks. Gazeebo. Macadamia. Blubber. Baluga. When you read those words, you either know what I am talking about and are busting out laughing, or you think I am totally insane and should be committed (well, you may be right on both counts). Continue Reading
